I am looking for a Player that can play 4K Blu-ray movies on Intel's X299 chipset that doesn't support Intel SGX (Software Guard Extensions).
I purchased a techPulse120 UHD USB 3.0 Type-C (it's basically a slim usb enclosure with a LG BU40N 4K/UHD optical drive in it).
I thought I could use PowerDVD18 with my Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti for 4k blu-ray playback but I cannot get that to work even using Nvidia Pixel Adapter or Nvidia Medium Filter I just get this error:
I also tried DVDFab Player Ultra 5.0.1.6 this detects Ghost in The Shell like PowerDVD does but when I try to play it I get this error:
I have check their list at: DVDFab 4K UHD Drive Support the drive is listed with Firmware: FR07, TST0, BU10, CA03, A100
Mine is like Firmware 1.02 I think I am not sure to check this
I have also tried Aiseesoft Blu-ray Player as a trial again this detect the movie since Windows 10 does it, but it just stuck at:
So does this really mean I have to sell off my Intel Core i7-7800X and Asus Prime X299-A motherboard and go back to normal Skylake like i7-6700K and Z270 motherboard or go a Coffee Lake i7-8700K or wait for 8 core model and a Z370/390 motherboard?
