Playstation connected to Internet through my Pc.

Hi everyone.
I have a curiosity.

I would like to know if it's possible to share my Pc's Internet connection with the Ps3 connected via Ethernet cable.

If you have a spare port on the router then you can just connect the ps3 to it and it should work or do you want to connect it directly to the pc and try and get a internet connection?

Yes if you have two network cards.Then just select both cards and bridge them

If you getting internet via Lan

It's not about the port on the router, I have a lot of free ports on the switch/hardware firewall/router ect ect, I want to connect it as you already mentioned, directly to the pc.

Right click the internet connection icon in the bottom right.
Network and sharing / Change adapter settings.

I dunno, I asked to early, I did that already, BTW thanks

Now I have one more problem, I have 3 Adapters on my pc:

1 - one that comes with the board
2 - one that I have installed minutes ago
3 - one that has installed it self when i installed the VPN Software

I have bridge the VPN one plus the new one that I have installed minutes ago, i have connected the PS3 via cable but I don't get Internet connection on then PS3 :shadedshu:

What I my missing :confused:

Why are you bridging the VPN adapter and the PS3 adapter?

Also, unless your stuff is really old (pre-gigabit), auto MDIX takes care of PC to PC connections without a crossover cable.

Btw, when you are configging ICS, choose the real net adapters not the logical ones, ie. the two real network cards.

Well not anymore. Most network cards can detect and cross data lines itself now.

Well there may be some exceptions.

I did already tried choosing the two real network cards but when I go to the PS3 configuration to set the Internet it doesn't get any IP and it says failed.

You PC has to be at the head of your network. Is it directly connected to the cable modem, etc?

It does it automatically. Can you imagine millions of ppl trying to manually set IPs? You can go manual, but why?

Yes the PC is connected directly but no to a router instead to a Firewall Hardware, i guess that could be the problem, btw everything what i have tried it failed.

Now i have notice something on network and sharing center

You need to use 'Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)' instead of bridging the connections. You do not have a router and I am assuming you do not have something else acting as a DHCP server which is what allows 1 incoming internet connection to be split up between all the computers connected to a network.

You need to decide what you are doing because you are not 1. running the pc at the head of your network, and 2 breaking it when running the vpn. What's the/your point in all this?

All what i wanted to do was to connect the PS3 to the internet through my PC, since i did not succeed to do so i gave up.
