Vario,

Once again, thank you!

The Silverstone ST65F – G was my second choice because of only fair reviews. It will 100% fit.

If you can spare the time would you tell me: 1) How long you have been using it; 2) Is your system on most of the time; and 3) How is its cooling, i.e. is it venting warm or hot air under normal use?

The reviews are why I was considering shoe horning in the SeaSonic. Your use of that PSU and, hopefully your, follow up are very important. One of my biggest build fails involved a PSU so this is a corner I will not cut to save a few bucks. Seriously, I was considering taking the case to a shop to mod it by cutting out the back of the PSU cage so the PSU would fit because those reviews concerned me.

And yet again, thank you.

Cheers,
Null
1) I've had it 8 months
2) nope, I turn it on when I use it every few days
3) it stays "cool" at idle, warm under load (as in, not super hot, just slightly warm I guess) even under load, the i5, 1 hdd, and 7850 don't require much power to operate.

http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/3720/silverstone_strider_plus_st50f_p_500w_power_supply/index5.html

it has a blue fan which is pretty cool to look at, its very attractive looking for a power supply, the fully modular cables are very nice. It doesn't make much noise either. Its been a great power supply from my limited usage. you can buy a shorter cable set to reduce the bulk of the cables, which I did, but it isnt necessary.

eidairaman1,

First and foremost, thank you.

My thinking was closed toward AMD chips. Because it was not something I'd considered your recommendation is especially valued.

I shall reconsider them based on your recommendation. I have opened the links you provided and will check them out when caught up here.

Once again, thank you.

Cheers,

Vario,

Way cool, thank you again.

I've got the link open and will check it out when I get caught up here. If I end up with the Prodigy case this information is very good to know.

Still have to sign off and check out the links to other blue cases some kind soul (Vario) provided before I lock in the case. :)

Thank you, yet again.

Dear All,

Thank you very much for sharing your time and thoughts with me.

If I missed someone it was only because I was overwhelmed by all the wonderful advice and links I am about to explore.

I'll keep checking back.

Thank you one and all.

Hey sometimes saving cash is worthwhile, plus you have room for upgrades. AMD does have the the FirePro APU series aswell but I compared spec they are right around what the 5800K was and the next model down from that.

http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/workstation/firepro-3d/apu#, As of the Moment Intels run a pretty penny regardless, plus their IGP is still abysmal, AMD was pretty smart on the APU as of design.

Arjai,

:respect:First and foremost thank you!

You answered my question about using on the chip's graphics before I even got there. :D That actually was a great reassurance.

Off topic - I'm having issues getting Boinc to run. :( If there is a way to PM and you can spare the time sure would like to pick your brain. The FAQs don't seem to cover it.

Once again, thank you.
