I currently own 3 5950x's and 2 10850K's. I own the 5950x's strictly for WCG crunching power. They are multitasking beasts. I've not been able to slow them down at all, no matter what I throw at them. That being said, unless you are looking at tremendous multi core workloads, the 10850k and 10900k's are snappy chips and currently a much better value than most higher end Ryzen chips despite the Ryzen being better overall. I also really don't think you have to spend any more on a z590 board than you do on a 570x either. Honestly, if I was just playing with overclocking, gaming or doing general tasks I'd go Intel all day long after extensive testing on both platforms. It's also way easier to overclock memory on the z590 platform with less QVL issues if you enjoy memory overclocking like I do. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I couldn't give two f*cks whether I'm popular or not.
For all of the people who say wait, there is ALWAYS something better coming soon. If anyone remembers when DDR3 and DDR4 were first implemented it took almost a year for them to become reasonable for the average enthusiast to move to the new platform. Given that fact, everything is still going to be a couple of years to reach that tipping point. That is like a decade in enthusiast years.
I say get what you want and can afford now and just enjoy it. Nothing is really future proof.
