Today we take a look at the Point of View 7900 GTX, which is based on the current high end chip from NVIDIA, the G71. The GeForce 7900 Series was introduced during CeBIT this year, and has replaced the old 7800 Series line up. A major change is the increased clock speed of 650 MHz on the core and 1600 MHz on the GDDR3 memory. While the card is not exactly budget at $499 it is still cheaper than most other 7900 GTX cards from the competition.

While the Review is appreciated comparing it to previous Gen Cards gives no real measure of performance, while the X1300 is a "same gen" card there is nothing in the comparison that is truly a stablemate to gauge it against

His benchmarks from what I see are all stock runs.... so your comparison with Flashed BIOS and OC, really isn't relevant... especially since you posted no comparison scores...

Why is it not comparable? Your specs show you running a X800XT, which most computers are running these days are mid range cards. Giving the mid range comparison gives those with mid range cards the comparison to which to grade their systems too. It's not always about a true stablemate but what the real world represents.

You lost me Steevo ... nice scores by the way... I don't think you're comparing apples to apples ... the review benchmark is on a AMD 3500+ at stock speeds and the video card is at stock vs AMD 4000+ @2.9 and vid oc'ed @ 740/830 .... I guess I just don't get your point... nice oc on the cpu as well ..

Point is $ vs$ of performance.
Point is if a 3500+ in one test with a (_____) performs at this rate then by basic reasoning you can use a assumed rate of increase in performance to determine how it stacks up against your or other specs.

Just as something isn't written in stone in this one article doesn't mean that it isn't true.

Yes, I agree with the $ vs $ in performance and that was all I wanted to hear other than beats the pants off, given with an overclock the 7900GTX would still score higher and not everyone flashes and overclocks their video card. But the highest score I could find in ORB for a 7900GTX at or around 2900MHz AMD CPU was mid 11k .... with the price of the GTX in the US still at are around 500 US dollars and the ability to find a X1800XT for around or even under 300 US dollars you make a very good point ....

I never said anything about something not being true ... I just thought you had spammed and ran ... :)

I can reach the barely 11K mark, but I get artifacts so I do not believe it is fair.

Plus I compressed a video the other night for a friend, 29MB MPG to 5.9 Mpeg 4 in 34 seconds. Sooo. :D
