Portal 2 Confirmed by Valve

Valve's acclaimed puzzle-action hybrid Portal will be given a sequel, according to the game's lead designer Kimberly Swift."Well, I believe Doug Lombardi who is our lead marketing director at Valve, has announced Portal 2." said Swift in an interview with G4TV. Lombardi had previously stated that more Portal was on the way, but Swift's comment is the first mention of a true sequel to be made thus far. No further details on the project were provided. Aside from the announcement of the sequel, Portal also won the Game Developers Choice Award for Game of the Year last night in San Francisco and has taken home the awards for Innovation and Best Game Design.

It will be hard for it to actually live up to the original though, the main reason I enjoyed the first portal was because of it's humour over actual gameplay. I'm pretty sure my housemates thought I was crazy when I would randomly burst out laughing at various parts of the game.

Multiplayer portal would be absolutely mind blowing, haha it would be so random if 20 people were just running around a small room making portals everywhere. I'm pretty sure the resulting chaos would just open a portal straight to hell sucking in all life from the game.

nah in was thinking on the lines of co-op puzzles. i would love to see capture the cake(flag) or find the cake, like 2 teams portal'ing there way to the opponents side, you have your standard blue and orange portal and maybe a third one to portal the opponents flag directly to ur base. and maybe and organized version of like 20 people portal'ing each other lol...just an idea
