Valve is just plain awesome. They can take as long as they want (e.g. "Valve Time") provided they keep up the overall killer quality and fun like this.

Edit: It would seem based on these teaser images that it's not just Steam coming to Mac but many of their premiere games such as HL2, TF2 and LFD2. The Mac version of HL1 was scrapped like 8 years ago after it was completed apparently. Given the very robust performance of Windows VMs such as Parallels since the Mac became an Intel platform (combined with CPUs supporting hardware virtualization) perhaps these games can now actually run well in some type of emulation mode as opposed to needing to be ported?

Mac users are getting TF2, HL, Steam etc?! That's nuts. Valve just needs to start making video cards.

My thoughts on all of this so far... Portal was a glimpse into Arpeture Science for a lead-in to HL2:EP3/Portal 2. I'm soo excited and Valve is just plain awesome.

Or, and I admit this is so unlikely that even writing it makes me sound like an insane fantasist, is Mac Steam going to include a wrapper/virtualisation tech that enables most Windows games to be played on OSX, a la Crossover or Parallels Desktop? Doubtful, but God only knows what this actually entails. Whichever, my immediate concern, because I’m a selfish little snot, is whether Win-Steam and Mac-Steam accounts will be twinned – I own a Mac as well as PC. I want access to my stuff on both.

I don't know I played the end boss sequence again today and had the old ending. Mind you I didn't unlock the new achievement and didn't play the morse code on the radio (don't know how). But my Portal has been updated previously, so I have no clue why.
