This came to my mind when Nvidia announced its presence in GDC 2017. Maybe they will announce 1080 Ti with 3328 cores and Titan X Black with 3840 cores?

    Thoughts?

Who knows, cut down GP102 aka Titan X already rules the roost, Nvidia are sitting pretty and have plenty of options either way.

The amazing Vega needs to be released, I gather that is this year thankfully.

The funny thing is, they could easily make a Titan X Black if they wanted to but they don't have to. Even with the whole Async and Vulkan bullshit nonsense, the 1080 performs better than any card. Vega will change that but by how much. A 1080 ti could topple Titan Black on clock speed but a full core GP102 with relaxed power limits and a PR damaging 300watt power draw would be stupidly fast. Yeah, a Titan X Black is more than possible but only Vega's success will tempt it out of the creative shadows.

Well, for winners, minor details don't matter. For losers, they have to pick on minor details. That's just how it goes.

Send me one of the boys, bro.

You have a few scenarios for that:

    A) Vega is faster than 1080 but slower than Titan X: GTX 1080 Ti will have 3328 shaders, just fast enough to beat Vega,

    B) Vega is faster than 1080 and faster than Titan X: GTX 1080 TI will have 3840 shaders to beat Vega (kinda 780 Ti vs 290X reloaded)

    C) Vega is faster than 1080 and faster than Titan X and faster than full GP102 / GTX 1080 Ti / Titan X Black: AMD wins and we celebrate and party around, enjoying better competition and lower prices!

Because their customers will purchase it regardless if cut down or not, even @ $1k+. For a consumer GPU :shadedshu:
