@freeagent thermalright bro mang

i just ran cinebench r23 10 min multi on my 7800x3d with my air cooler, and it never broke 80 celsius. and my ambient temp is higher than normal too.
so basically, i match a 360mm aio arctic cooler. (using mx-6 paste)
wild.
its a damn good air cooler

View attachment 394497

@crazyeyesreaper i will never understand the hype of watercoolers when my air cooler matches the temps. can't believe my air cooler beats d15 g2 by 8 celsius in the same test. wild to me.

i already closed out gpu-z, but yeah my cpu temp never broke 80 and was 79 most of the time.
Due keep in mind CPU choice matters for most users yeah you dont need a 360 mm AIO far from it honestly. For CPUs sub x800 on AMD so 9800X3D and lower, your typically fine with pretty much anything in day to day usage. But PC enthusiasts have taken things to the extreme on it has to look good and have this feature so prices creep up and expectations of what is needed go up as well. Sure if your doing rendering or tasks that really hammer all cores extra cooling is good be it Intel or AMD but lets face it 90% of the market browses the web, plays games and have over built systems to do it lol

No worries, I forgot the @ sign. Maybe he has set profile to private only?

Found the thread from EOCF (yes I still watch the forum kind of regularly still :) )

Just my opinion, but metal tubes look meh on a "normal" everyday gaming PC. But if you are having some kind of an industrial or a steampunk theme, then whoo boy... looks hella dope, especially copper ones!

I always wanted to do a rusted PC build and make it look awesome. Like, take a brand-new case and sand the edges and random places and leave it outside in the rain lol. Let the inside rust out, and maybe clean it up, clear over it and assemble it all.

Did some rework, swapped the thick 140mm rad to a 240x30mm one and put the CPU Eisbaer to the custom loop with the Alphacool quick-connectors.

You should rotate your pump so as to not use that 90. Using a 90 right off the pump is not ideal. Try to avoid using 90s when a 45 will work like off the gpu for ex. or a wide 90 like a double rotary 90.

Harder said than done with this small 4000D. I may think a better way for tubing after I've got a better case for watercooling.

Just downgraded my CPU cooler over the weekend to fit into a case I had lying around which I needed for fans under the GPU. 5% all-core, and 0% gaming performance lost on the 7800X3D with a 45 W TDP limit (61 W PPT) while running at 75 °C. I'm amazed. :)

Don't take this the wrong way but no it isn't hard. I've built full loops into smaller cases than that. And you have plenty of room dude. Just rotating your pump will remove the 90 right there. That's the worst location to use a 90 right off the pump, wc 101.

Temps are fine so I don't see a reason to figure out a rework for now. I consider it if the loop needs other changes where I would also swap the connectors. It's fine for now

after seeing some posts in this threads, i was inspired to install to my long waited ml120 pro fan, doesn't seem to have much effect on temp because side fan is probably intaking hot air but when my AC gets installed (probably by weekend), i think temps will be alot better also the fact that my rig is placed in a corner so not much airflow pssoible but i did make space b/w walls. This will give me alot of confidence going in future, although i hesitated but i was firm with my decision and did it in somewhat relaxed state. I can probably build confidence by this to build pc and / or assemble parts.

I love seeing posts from people with reasonable builds! One doesn't need a 5090 to be called an enthusiast. Keep up the good work, dude! :)

I love seeing posts from people with reasonable builds! One doesn't need a 5090 to be called an enthusiast. Keep up the good work, dude! :)
thanks, no matter how disappointing performance 1050 ti gives these days as it's time has ran out, no one can snatch the crown of being a legendary GPU. But tbh, some reasonably optimized games even to date give decent performance like 30-40fps with fsr

Exactly. Tinkering with computers isn't a p2w hobby. :toast:

Just downgraded my CPU cooler over the weekend to fit into a case I had lying around which I needed for fans under the GPU. 5% all-core, and 0% gaming performance lost on the 7800X3D with a 45 W TDP limit (61 W PPT) while running at 75 °C. I'm amazed. :)

Big Shuriken?

If so that is interesting it works just as well on AM4.
