my first build was about 10 years ago i remember my xwife came home from work and seen parts all over the place. she asked me if i knew what i was doing i said we will see. when i was finished i plugged it in and it worked good she was surprised. any way i don't have any pics of the system but if any of you guys have pics of your first system that you built post it here.

My first build is my current one (before I bought prebuilt computers), it has more or less 5 years, except the video card, hard disk, DVD recorder, motherboard and PSU,

Original Video Card: IGP Geforce 6150
Sound: Onboard
Optical media: Samsung DVD player + LiteON CD recorder.
Motherboard: ASRock AliveNF6P-VSTA (only lasted me 1 year, then I bough my current motherboard)
Hard Disk: Seagate 150 GB (I currently use it as data disk).
PSU: Generic 500W.
Memory: 512 MB RAM DDR2.
OS: Windows XP Pro
Processor: Current
Chassis: Current
Monitor: Current, but used a old LG CRT and 14" LCD while mine was being repaired for some time.
Speakers: Current (generic ones)

but has been improved/repaired until today with the components, never bough another computer build from scratch. I can't take pictures due I lack a camera, but it is a standard one with a 10 year old chassis

hi mate,this is my first build,bout two weeks ago,i just installed a water cooler today,heres a pic,its in matx box,a cheap case but works,it cost round a k all up.midrange gaming rig,and for photoshop,illustrator,etc

i overclocked it with auto tune asus ai just then,never done this b4,hope im not overkilling,lol.some feedback or help would be good,.

the cpu is @ 4738 and gpu @1450, seems to be cool enough-cpu temp is 29c,mobo 26c.

now alls i need to do is learn how to do it manually, haha.

just thought id add,it was a hell of a juggling act to make it all fit nice and clean,psu was too big at first,had to think "inside the box" on this one to make it all fit,

My first build was a AMD socket A duron 800mhz with 512mb of ram, a biostar motherboard, geforce mx4000 128mb video card, 30gb WD ide hard drive, lite on dvd ram drive, all in a rosewill case with 350w psu.

total build cost me like $300 bucks lol. I remember I could play call of duty 2 and unreal tournament at super low settings. But hey I was like 13 i didnt care at the time. about a year later I upgraded to a 754 athlon with a ati 9600gt and 1gb of ram. Now that rig could game.

I remember have to take it back to the shop. I coudnt get it to post because of an IRQ conflict. They removed the sound card and it posted. Duh

My first build is still working today as a POS:
P3 800Mhz (Coppermine EB)
Matsonic board with some SiS chipset
512MB PC133
All-In-Wonder Radeon 32MB DDR (sold)
Sound Blaster Live PCI (sold)

Was quite nice at the time. The Athlons got L2 around the same time and shot over 1Ghz but back then I really didn't know what an AMD was, Intel always had commercials on the TV and that's what I went with.

First actual build was a sucky (ie non BX440

) Slot 1 motherboard, a Pentium II 233Mhz, 92MB Ram, 4GB HHD and I don't remember the graphic card. Monitor was an awesome 17" Samsung Syncmaster and a generic grey case.

my first build was and AMD 6000+, MSI K9A Plautnum 580X, OCZ PLaitnum 2x1GB, Generic Green case off newegg, Samsung DVD burner, 8600 GTS Superclocked, OCZ Heatsink, Generic powerspec 500watt PSU, and a 160 GB SATA HDD. not that old I know, still have it, gave it to my sister. I have built two for myself since then and truely love PC building!
