I need your help guys. I ran Sandra 2005 and I came up with some odd results.

I find that my system is running nice and fast compared to all the ones in the program BUT both the chipset benchmark (lower right) and the hard drive benchmark (far right) have me a bit worried. Any thoughts???

I have a Samsung Spinpoint P-Series SATAII 250GB drive hooked up to a DFI Lanparty SLI DR Expert mobo.

i can't tell about the second example for the hdd test, but the other ones are in raid0, which would make their performance make sense in comparison to your single drive

try some other drive examples

*edit, looked up gigabyte iram, and it's a solid state disk, so it's read times are going to be better than a platter type hdd. check your performance against other single drives

I did....but Sandra doesn't seem to have any SATAII non-RAID configurations. I just need to know how my dirve compares in terms of performance to others of the same caliber.....I thought I should be getting closer to 90MB/s.

hrmmmm... hopefully someone with a single setup can run the test too

quick ?: is the program free? czu i can run it in about an hour when i get home

also, is the 1st example 36gb 10,000rpm hdd's in raid0? if so, and they get 95mb/s i would be surprised if a single, parallel drive get's 90. but i have no idea, cuz i have never ran the program! i was just trying to help by observation, but i'll have data of my own soon enough to compare.

i hear the spinpoint series is a pretty damn fast drive, and those numbers seem about right. they jive with the numbers of my seagate 7200.9 when it was still a single drive.

my rig is about the same as yours, and these numbers jive pretty nicely for what i'm getting. so i wouldn't be too worried.

You guys have put me a rest....phew. I'm sure these drives would fly in RAID.

I'm not a fan of '07.....

Another odd think that I have noticed is that the rest of my scores are quite a bit above the benchmark scores. Don't get me wrong...I'm loving the scores but are the Sandra saved scores lowballed???

This is because if you look, my X2 3800+ blows the X2 4000+ out of the water.

well, the 4000+ is only 200mhz faster, so i don't think its impossible...

Ah, I see you have almost the same specs as I do!!!

You should bench your system using Sandra and see how our systems compare to each other.
