I was just reading on this. Needless to say I am pretty concerned. After 2 years and already we are seeing a surge in card pump failure. Problem is most original Fury X only had 1 year of warranty, including mine.

I gotta say FuryX/Fury/Nano are the most neglected FLAGSHIP GPU put out by AMD. And this is really not reflecting well on AMD.

Concerning... if there is a large scale problem/surge.

So far, this is the first mention I have seen of it.

Popped up on reddit a lot, problem is very few people own FuryX, so those posts usually got swarmed out fast.

I am seeing some troubling signs on my FuryX, mostly higher idle temp than a year ago.

Pull the block, reapply thermal compound, blow out fans and fins, is there anyway of purging the aio, aka opening it to change fluid or purge of air bubbles?

If you are unsure I'd go for an alphacool block and custom kit.

I'm on two different AMD subreddits and several forums, and I haven't seen one yet. There's bound to be failures like with anything else mechanical.

I may reapply the thermal compound. As for purging the AIO I don't know the possibility.

I am not even sure I want to keep this card honestly. Got burned hard by AMD's support this round

Electric water pumps fail on wash machines too, no matter if LG, Samsung, Frigidaire/Electrolux, GE, Whirlpool, or Kenmore/Maytag Based on those above.

You should try before giving up. By the way who was the OEM of your card?

Sapphire. I have emailed them before. They looked up my card info and just told me my card was out of the limited 1 yr warranty. That was in June 2016.

Well every card maker is different,

Try the thermal compound/pads, clean fan and fins thoroughly. Worst case is replacing the block and pump, As I said Alphacool and I believe EK make blocks for them, The Reason I suggested Alphacool is due to them making complete blocks for custom pcbs like the Sapphire VaporX cards.

don't know. newegg said it should be 2 years. sapphire said the card is not manufactured by them and they don't even have any replacement pumps.

either way looks like this furyx will have a pump failure before the gpu itself gives up.

Newegg is not the OEM, they are just a distributor, if newegg was dealing with the replacement through themselves, go for it, or do the thermal stuff, otherwise get the parts above mentioned, or strip the block off the card and sell it and suggest to the buyer to get the block from the 2 makers above

I do Believe the OP is in Trompland and as suck Does not get the Same Warranty protection as an EU/UK Purchased Item
It's just that EU had passed a law stating anything sold there is to have a 2 year warranty at the least, this country leaves it up to the OEM and distributor to set Warranties, so this is business as usual and has been going on since number 42 (Billy Boy) as this happens in other countries too. Besides wasn't there an OEM bickering match over patents on this cards waterblock, pump and radiator?

Well try the compound replacement, then replace those parts or sell the card and specify needs pump replaced.

I have nothing but good things to say about sapphire in EU tho. They replaced my 290 trix twice when I was having PSU troubles (didn't realize that until it happened for the second time). Each time I got a new card.

This in and of itself shouldnt be troubling...you are falling for confirmation bias at this time. It could be ANYTHING, including that pump dieing early (but doubtful...there are typically signs like lower pump speed, or noises from the pump are signs of mechanical failure.

Since nobody else has mentioned it yet, Cooler Master designed and manufactured the CLC for the Fury X. If you fear the product is failing it might not be a terrible idea to try asking them for information.

AIO CLC are junk, pump failure, pump leak, hose cracking/leaking, radiator barb leakage, something is bound to happen eventually. If its something you want to keep a long time might want to switch your cooler or buy something that doesn't use AIO CLC stock.
