i would replace the paste with something like arctic's ceramique 2, or maybe some diamond based stuff (not up to date on those).
if that doesnt help/you hear pump noise, multiple options (besides the trash).

1. sell it.
2. replace the pump (replace the fluid as well, and you would need some connectors/hose to install it in the existing loop.
3. get an aftermarket cooler from someone like arctic (air/water), see if you can find an open box on amazon/microcenter.

@Vario
posts like yours are the reason im tired of helping in forums, as users with less knowledge, might actually believe that crap.
you're either ignorant or dont know much about the hardware, stating something like this.

you wanna tell me that an AIO from EK/Alphacool (etc) is gonna die or develop ANY issues, before some 100-150$ "custom" loop from ANY of the large manufacturers
(that are not made by alphacool/aquacomputer/EK etc) ?
lol.

unless of course you can back that up with manufacturer numbers about return rates that will prove your assumption.

little example, even that its not about cpus:
almost everyone recommends a good air cooler (over something like an 120 aio),
yet the corsair H60i (updated one; 60$) im running for 2y now on an older gaming rig (3770k/1060) with one 9db fan,
can keep temps at the same level that i had "before", running a zalman resorator (v1) with 13mm tubing and a 12ft head/+200glm pump and a waterblock that cost more than the H60.

none of the parts would cover any other parts (getting damaged), same for any air cooler even when going in the 50-100$ range.
yet corsair offers replacement of ANY part in my rig that gets damaged/destroyed when the AIO fails.

yeah, aio's really make no sense...

I hate how there is no mention of VRM and its temps in the article linked by OP.

vrms/temps are not really an issue on pascal, unless the card is used for mining/extreme bad airflow in the case
(which is usually not the issue with ppl spending +400$ on a gpu...)

You can just swap the pump motor out with whatever asetek clone they are using. I have done a couple in various forms.

This seems to be a viable option.

Will be repasting the card first and go from there. As of now whenever it is under high workload the card itself makes a small cracking sound. It only happens during prolonged gaming sessions.

Idling temp used to dip down to 29,30C. Now it rarely gets under 40C. Load temp doesn't change much. Always sits around 60-65C.

I don't know. Maybe @EarthDog is right i am just scaring myself. We will see.

Only time will tell. I didn't hear anything in the video that didn't sound like coil whine, so, yeah... not entirely sure, at this point, what you are worried about...:)

Switching to volta 80Ti down the road. I will save this FuryX though. Such a unique little card.

as far as i've read and seen, no volta for consumer.
and the fact that they are selling like sliced bread to companies, (relatively) small yield and the high cost for chip/hbm,
i dont see it ending up in consumer products.
most likely the reason why new chip name is surfacing (ampere).
could be the after-volta chip, but more likely the cutdown/consumer version for end user.

@xkm1948 I'd venture to say to apply some new thermal paste on that card.

About 2 days after owning my Vega card I ripped it apart and reapplied the paste with some really good thermal grizzly kryanut paste and it really smartend the temperatures up..

With your temperatures Rising I honestly would have to say that the hbm and how hot it runs dries the crap out of that paste that AMD used on the fury X.

I dont have much kryonaut left but I do have Noctua NT-H1 left. I may try that. Considering my card is already out of warranty. :(

That's what I hate about CLC cards. The warranty for the card and the CLC should run separately. 2 years for the card, 5 for the cooler.

MSI Seahawk cards have a 3 year warranty, despite Corsair offering 5 years on all their indivudual CLCs.

2 years for a CLC is a joke.

Yeah I'm not too sure on the package size of Fury vs Vega but I just barely had enough Grizzly paste to cover the entire package.. but the other paste you have should work very well too..

And be sure to upload a few pictures of how the factory paste looks when you pull it apart.

Actually even shorter than that. When I contacted Sapphire they straightly told me that they have no access to the parts of the CLC cooler. If the cooler fails they can't do jack shit about it.

H100i failed on me, pump died. Asetek 120mm failed on me as well,
thats an issue with the Asetek (design), not really an AIO/CLC problem, as many other brands dont have the same pump fails (EK etc.)
so stating ALL AIO are crap, is not right, just the Asetek based ones are.

since corsair offers coverage for all damaged parts of the computer (not just the AIO), i dont worry much.
wont use it past warranty time anyway.

That model H100i Corsair was made by CoolIt.

Glad you have trust for these companies. I don't.

Afaik they are still based on the same design, as almost all are.

And just because "one" failed, doesn't mean all of them will.
They do have a higher failure rate than others, but for a third of the cost, i can live with that.
Not saying i trust them, but corsairs support. ;)

Can we change the title to something less sensationalist (un)like news titles here at TPU (drives clicks but really don't have content)? :)

Just removing the "large scale" would have been enough.
Since one card isnt "all of them"..
