Power button baffling.

I've taken 4 computers from a friends office, to clean them up, do a fresh install of XP. They are all different and all quite old. I'm having a really frustrating time with 1 of them. It looks like it would have been a decent system in it's day but right now it won't even start. A green power button lights up on the MB but pressing the power button does nothing. It seems as though the power button is broken. Has anybody got any ideas.

Take a small screw driver and short the +pwr and -pwr.

Thanks for reply. I did wonder if that mite work but wasn't confident enough to try unless some one else suggested it also.

or switch the reset button to power, so you can turn it on by using reset button

or find a old led or something with a 2 pin connector on it and strip and bridge the wires you do need to be carful about what pins you short if you short the Speaker pins to the power on pins it can end badly
