I am having trouble finding a power cable for it that will work for installing an NVIDIA Tesla K80 in an HP Z440 and I looking for suggestions on what to use to power it?

Based on internet searching I selected a cable that has 2 female SATA 15-pin connections to 1 8-pin PCI Express male connector. I found out that instead I should be using a 8-pin EPS-12V connector. However, I can't find this type of connector with 2 female SATA 15-pin connections on the other end anywhere online.

Based on a video that I found I was able to modify the 8-pin PCI Express male connector, and I was able to connect it to the Tesla K80. However, the computer gave me a power failure error. I unplugged the power cable from the K80 and now the computer doesn't give the the power failure error.

So if you have any input on the type of power cable to use for the K80 in an HP Z440 that would be very helpful.

Thank you,
John

Why would you want to use SATA at the other end of the connector ? It doesn't make sense. Do not use any kind of SATA to ESP or PCIe or whatever, that cannot supply the required power.

8-pin EPS-12V is the same connector with the one used for the CPU, you need a PSU with two sets of 8-pin EPS-12V. There is no other option.
