Power Supply problems..

so i just got a new mother board and i set it all up.. but now i'm not getting power... does any one know of a way to check to see if your power supply is faulty?

are you sure your jumpers are correct? why don't you try it on another motherboard and seeing if it works.

cuz i jsut bought this one.. and i dont have a car to go back and try a different mobo.. i bought a geforce6100sm-m motherboard and my power supply is a okia -550atx 550 (watt)

could there be compatability issues? and howd o i check the jumpers?

usually all psus should work since you just bought it. check the jumpers to make sure its the right one and move it from one to another just the power switch one and then when you got it there you go put the rest in. check your manual for the jumpers and everything is plugged in correctly to the mainboard

just the power switch plug thats it. try that out first to see if your motherboard turns on and the first sign is your fans running then that means psu works!

Try a new power supply? Also, you can short a power supply and trick it into running, how ever it's not recommended unless you have load on your psu.

ok i got power! woohoo! now.. im running this mother board for the first time.. its beeping softly at me? what do i do now.. im not getting anything on my monitor... its blank

are you using onboard or graphics card. what kind of graphics card do you have?

i plugged it into the onboard one... but i also have another one in there.. should i unplug it until i get everything setup witht he mother board>?

no connect it to the other one and if you see any pins on your graphics card then... it needs an extra power use your a: pin or an adapter.

if its onboard and your screen isn't turning on make sure its connected in all the way. remember to thank me!

well the graphics cards both onboard and the one i have plugged in are equally crappy.. but in order to get something on my screen should i unplug the one video card and plus my monitor into the onboard? its still beeping and im not getting anything on my monitor...

theres the onboard geforce 6100 and then theres the radeon 9600.. i have no clue which is better.. (i made another thread for that ) the radeon 9600 doesnt need any extra powercables to it

i think u should just try the on board graphics to elimement all the variables

if u can go had and put your windows cd in it and enjoy

shorter beeps.. in a steady rythm.. just beeep...... beeep...... beeep its not really loud.. but loud enough
