With the global crisis of COVID-19, we understand that these are critical times for everyone. This has impacted all aspects of our lives, and we understand that during these times, priorities are placed on more health-concerned matters. Many in the process of RMAs may find difficulty in shipping out cards for repair or service at this time, so we will be adding a 3-month extension to customers with warranties expiring between March through June 2020. PowerColor remains committed to delivery great products and services to our customers, and want to assure that we will continue to do so during these trying times.

And they straight up offered the extension rather than gate it behind a reward scheme that you had to sign up to if you haven't already done so.

PC Jesus doesn't approve your message this is obviously a panic response to one of the better AIB companies.

Actually MSI exempted GFX cards from the warranty extension as well...

Good on Powercolor for this.

Good move by them. Powercolor seems to be on a positive trend since release of Navi GPU.

Not sure, maybe I should check, but I'm sure if it does it'll be twisted. Like how he convienently left out Asus using screws that were too long to hold the cooler onto the Strix 5700XT, while making sure open the door to it being AMDs fault. He mentions the new screws but then instantly jumps to the mounting pressure stuff on the core. He kind of acts like a mouth piece for certain companies, and he posted his 'investigative piece's 3 days after HU posted and talked about how Asus screwed up and then refused to own it and still does.

So based on that I'm posting a parody, to make a joke based on past actions... Since he takes himself far too seriously and leaves himself open.

Some background for people who might not know....

Steve basically bought into what MSI was pushing, then managed to review the well liked Powercolor 5600XT badly by doing 'special testing'... It also happens that Powercolor committed to putting out the vBios update, while MSI initially did, then after Asus said nope you get a more expensive 'Z' model, MSI went on a campaign to slam the 5600XT OC bump, and justified walking back on the commitment to release a more expensive 'Z' version. More money more better right? Steve then ranted about how if a card fails that he likes it will damage his personal reputation and got incredibly worked up about it. It was filled with some blatant misinformation about how AMD handles things, how many companies handle things, it was full of MSI wanking and was hugely selective in it's handling of history/information.

Then MSI brought out a gated and limited warranty extension that excluded a few components and one of them was that their graphics cards were excluded.

So Powercolor brings a 3 month extension to all their graphics cards whose warranty time is expiring, with no gates, and all of that.

So I'm having a chuckle, making some funnies and I'm not lying just using his past actions.

Makes me glad the Radeon VII's I bought at release last year were Powercolor cards.
No issues to mention at all, so far they just work.

When I was looking into which 5700 XT to buy, I actually watched HU's video about the STRIX (and the TUF. Good lawd, ASUS. Y U DO THAT?! :banghead:) and I believe it saved me from making a horrible purchase. The thing that really pisses me off though is ASUS is still recycling that STRIX design (triple fan) that I'd first seen on the RX 580! The problem with that is that MASSIVE heatssink isn't really needed for a lower-tiered GPU, but rather than design something different, ASUS chose to keep slapping that heatsink on cards that really didn't need it.

And while we're at it, seriously ASUS, quit beating that dead STRIX horse and come up with something different. That design has overstayed its welcome for WAY too long...

Whyyyyyy?

It's parody, and this is already too much effort and is devolving into being a shit post about someone who has a dedicated following who may or may not deserve it.

But just for you snowflakes, I'll burn some of my COVID-19 isolation time and watch some more of his videos just so I can mock him on the up to date stuff.

Oh my frakking god... Steve makes it easy to shred his 'integrity'.

The guy is hard for the leather and green.

The number of subtle and not so subtle digs at Radeons and AMD in his 'Hacked and Blackmailed' news video posted a day or so ago... :twitch:

Oh wait maybe EVGA was paying him a bonus on top of the advertising spot pay...

Recent is, as recent does...
