woot, prolly igp and 5770 may work together then :O
AMD buy them and complete the multigpu design you got!

AMD is struggeling with shared memory for gpu's, or that they add.
both cannot amd do, when they can do that, they can decrease the power usage of the for example 5970 alot.

Doesnt seem so bad this tech after all!

you can throw any GPU's together with this. radeon 4200 + 5770 + GTX 480, thats the entire idea behind it.

I do feel like they are trying to fit a two slot design into a single slot video card. There is no exhaust grill for the 2nd slot even though you can see the card is larger than one slot. its not a big issue but still.

easiest thing to do if your so worried about that is to take the next PCI cover plate out.

I also think this is a kick ass Idea instead of having to use a motherboard that has the chip on it.

I just hope they can keep all the ICs on the PCB cool

I think taking the PCI cover plate out is a given to keep your temperatures sane.

Fantastic card!

Can wait for W1zzad's reviews. :toast:

I can imagine a world of "budget" PCs with DX11 and PhysX and whatever...and not having to buy a 480/470/465, yes my friends, the salvation is here! Ok, I'm starting to drift...

A GTX260 or GTS250 would be well paired with this one, no?

The news says "paired", you sure it can offload to two or more cards?

Anyhow, stick this in now with your DX10 card for performance boost and later change the old card for some reduce price DX11 for some frame rate whooping!

I would highly understand on a 5870 or 480GTX but a middle range board really doesnt need it, besides most cases have ideal amt of Fans. Also the reason most bitch about sound from a board is because the case has a direct hole from the video card.

The powercolor website here claims "2 or 3 SLI/CFX GPU support"

Oh, that's nice!
But it could end up like what?
The HD 5770 + HD 5850 (For more power!) + a 250/260/270 for the PhysX?
Reviews need to be done to further study this.

I kind of think that it is a pretty nifty idea. You could do this card and a gt 260 or something and have CUDA perhaps and a physx card.

if this world was a nearly perfect place, you could use one of these babies along with a nvidia card, buy 3 120Hz displays and make the ultimate Eyfinity 3d with Physx!

Ok,back to the world of the living:any word on release date and price?

so does this mean you don't need a Lucid Hydra motherboard to run this card with lets say a GTX470 now that the chip is on the video card?

yup, thats the plan.

the key to performance here is how much bandwidth the hydra has - do they share the 16x slot say, 1x/15x, or is it 8x/8x or 12x/4x, etc.

the more bandwidth to the hydra, the better it would scale with high end cards, IMO.
