    CPU - AMD 965 Phenom II, Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-890FXA- UD5,
    RAM - DDR3 2x2GB Corsair Dominator , PSU - Coolermaster Extreme
    powerplus 600.
    even tested it on this rig : CPU - Intel i5 2500k, Mobo - ASUS P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3, RAM -
    Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB, PSU - Corsair TX750

    when I launch any game,the
fan switches to maximum speed and then the game freezes leaving the
system unresponsive. tested the card with 12.6 catalyst and 12.7 beta drivers.still same issues.

Ok, here are some of the issues you could find:
    1) Try resetting the cmos, none knows if that is the real problem
    2) Read careful your motherboard manual, what it says about the place of the
pci-express because mine was on the second, not the first
    3) Have you put in all connections right? Even the PCI-E connector?
    4) Another lesson not to go with powercolor again! I have powercolor too
and have temp problems. Though i would not expect this problem on all
    cards, just my experience.
    5) Try downclocking the card to lowest possible. Give any results or photos of the
card. Maybe we can find were is the problem. As far as i know, my psu supports 3x 7870
so your psu should have no issues at all.
    6) When tried on the other rig, do you get same errors???
