If you want a Vega, you should get it. It's a big card though.

Is 499 considered a sale for V64 ? Thought that was msrp.

rtx 2070 will sell for the same in October/Nov,faster,newer,cooler and quieter, more futureproof with mesh shading and dlss.

v56 at 399 is a good deal tho.

I mean the fact that Vega 56 or 64 is never at MSRP and this is the second time in a week where I have seen Vega cards at MSRP or below on Newegg is actually quite amazing. I haven't seen any RTX 2070 reviews yet, but wouldn't its performance be similar to a GTX 1080 which is basically the performance of a Vega 64? If the RTX 2070 is priced the same as the Vega 64, AMD's offering is still the better value if you have a Free Sync monitor. It is also looking like AMD night release a 7nm Vega at the end of this year which could give us a glimpse e of what Navi will be about.

No, it'll be faster than 1080. 2080 is 40% faster than 1080, 2070 will be 20% faster at least.Despite 2070 being TU106 chip we'll see 2070 much closer to 2080 than 1070 to 1080.
1080 has 1.33x shaders of 1070 and 1.25x the bandwidth, amounts to 1.20x faster

https://www.computerbase.de/thema/grafikkarte/rangliste/#diagramm-performancerating-fps-2560-1440

now 2080 has 1.27x shaders and same bandwidth, that's gonna amount to 10-15% in most cases.

7nm Vega will not be any indiction of navi. I hope it isn't. Navi 7nm should be a much more gaming oriented architecture.

If you want to buy vega 56/64 get them from failed mining industry they are cheaper.

If Newegg keeps giving them out at MSRP, it would be more with it to get them brand new then to buy a heavily used mining card with no warranty.

I mean Vega did excellent in gaming, the only areas where Vega struggled where with its price (which was inflated because of mining) and power. I mean for the last 3 years or so, AMD hasn't had a true high end GPU that could really beat Nvidia on the gaming front which is funny because priror to that AMD was beating Nvidia. The dark days actually started when AMD starting dipping its toes in HBM; If the R9 Fury X was a bit faster, had 8GB of HBM and was actually priced competitively, it would have been a great card, but the GTX 980ti clobbered it both in terms of performance and price. AMD still hasn't caught up, yet they have making some serious ground with Vega. With Vega, AMD managed to successfully beat the GTX 1070 with Vega 56, and beat the GTX 1070ti and GTX 1080 with the Vega 64 which is actually pretty impressive. If a 7nm Vega gets released in October or November which successfully outperforms the GTX 1080ti at a guaranteed $599.99 price point then I will have considered Vega a success.

If Navi is priced competitively and it gets much closer to RTX then AMD might really have something. Plus, we keep seeing Vega dip to MSRP and before the year closes out it will start to dip below MSRP.

I'm not sure why so many (desktop users) care about power. It's like this other little "Aha" thing just to shit on it. That's the kind of thing you point out when you never cared in the first place.

lol, thermals and noise maybe ? plus you've got no idea about their conditions. I got my pc in a small room with no AC, when I had 4790k and 980ti you could feel it in the summer after couple of hours of gaming. I even went for the energy efficient lights cause traditional lightbulbs heat up the room if they were on for long hours in the summer.I get why 30-50W can make no difference, but 100W is a huge difference under certain conditions. Also,do you enjoy your card being loud ? Cause I run my 1080 at 52% fan with OC and I can't hear it,stock runs 40%.

Mine isn't loud, but admittedly, I'm not always near it (one of it's selling points for me personally is Freesync.. simply because my TV is also Freesync. So I'm kicking back a lot).

Mine sits two feet from me in an open case.Noise is the main reason people want a more efficient card.People paying a premium for best Vega AIBs so that it can be quieter, then pretending power draw doesn't matter

Why would I, I'm absolutely fine without it as long as I don't have anything chugging electricity like crazy.I can,but that'd be dumb as hell if I can use energy efficient appliances and cut down the bill and temps without spending on AC.

Power = TDP = heat to dissipate = size and weight of cooling solution = noise and obstruction in the case. Additionally, higher TDP cards tend to clock lower.

Its extremely relevant if you care about quality of life, both in the room and within the PC.

As for an AC: it makes air very dry which is really not that good for you. More likely to catch a cold, and if you work in an office space, you'd basically be in AC - treated air over 12 hours per day. That's just bad for your health.

ANYWAY. This was about hot deals :D Now its just about hot :)

Well, you're in Poland.. maybe you barely need it. I don't know what summers are like there.

I'm in Texas.

But they work well.. just saying.

If you have a solid cooling solution you do not need to worry about power or heat. My system is air cooled and I have some of the best fans on the market. I almost never hear a lot of noise from my machine and most the time I have my headphones on anyways. I also have one of the best CPU air coolers on the market and all of my components all have great temps. If you have a solid PSU and have solid cooling in place you don't need to care about power or worry about heat. LOL people act like I'm going to use a stock CPU cooler and stock case fans :laugh::laugh:
