I told them about the problem and they e-mailed me this...."1) Point to Start --> Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> System Configuration --> Tools --> Select Disable UAC --> then Click "Launch" button"

The problem is that there is no System Configuration in Admin tools. Does anyone know how to disable the UAC (whatever that is!!)?

I was about 10 hours into making a video for my son when this happen so any help would be appricated.

I got the idea of opening another user account but it didn't work.

is this a vista rig?

I can enable/disable UAC like this on my Vista rig...

Start>>>Control Panel>>>User Accounts>>> you should be looking at this and select what I have circled...

Once that is selected, the next window will most likely show the UAC box checked. Uncheck it and tell it OK at the bottom. IIRC you may have to restart once this is done.

If this is an issue, please be more specific as to which step is failing.

nope xp64. I tried reinstalling the program but that didn't work either. It was working fine and then I updated my ati drivers to 9.6 and then it wouldn't start.

If your user is the admin there is no UAC. From what I read UAC can be implimented, but only on the limited accounts. From what I read here it looks to be disabled anyways, until you make it active. I think you got somew poor advice to be honest, or he assumed you were running a Vista machine.

Thier response.

Answer:
Dear Rob,

Thank you for writing back.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you from our previous response.

We would like to inform you that PowerDirector 6 it will work with windows Xp 32 Bit platform however, it does not support the windows Xp 64 Bit thus, the reason you are facing the issue.

We request you to please do not install and use the PowerDirector on windows 64 Bit platform, however, in the previous Case ID response we have not read that you were installing on windows 64 Bit XP.

You can install the PowerDirector on windows Xp 32 Bit, Vista 32 Bit and Vista 64 Bit.

I had problems before with this program and told them I am using XP64 and they didn't tell me it wouldn't work and it doesn't say anywhere in their system req. Needless to say I sent them a stern reply asking for my money back. For the people reading this remember the company is Cyberlink and it is garbage!!

Thanks for your help Sneekypeet
