They tell you it's not your time, that you have a lot of things to do. Next you are on the bar. You can hear the news saying that what happened is some sort of natural disaster iirc. After a while a blue portal opens in the bar and the Hidden female boss you saved earlier in the game appears. She says something about meeting a great alien race on another galaxy that has taken notice of you and your greatness or something like that. You finish the scene by entering the portal.

Awesome! Can't wait for the mega texture goodness! But on a side note can you imagine Rune 2 with that engine! Ragnar in Tech5 awesome!

Yup, better eyes than mine (helps when you have a higher res picture, lol). However, on the Wikipedia page, the logo is identical to the one in the trailer, minus the "5". What is the likely hood they will reuse the Id Tech 4 engine for this release?

Correction: We previously reported Prey 2 would be using id Tech 5. Bethesda Softworks Director of Marking and PR Pete Hines says the game will not be using that engine. "This game has been in development for quite a while and id Tech 5 is still in progress (until Rage ships, and probably even after). So it really wasn't an option," Hines said. The story above has been corrected.

When is this going to be released?

The first one was ok. Kinda repetitive, not challenging at all and linear but still innovative. That game was in progress for ages (7 years or something). It always reminds me of Duke Nukem (monsters, weapons, portals etc). I liked how they implemented those walls with artificial gravity, that was really interesting. I like the soundtrack called take me home by after midnight project. Plus game had a nice atmosphere. So the second one is open world fps and I'm sure I will like it more than prey 1.

^ time to dust off a 2900XT then, as it was like the only game where that gpu was faster than the 8800's. lol

Admittedly one of my biggest regrets was not buying that game when I had a 2900XT...instead I suffered through bad frames on other titles. lol

Still though this could be a shot at redemption.

I thought they confirmed it a while ago, and only just recently reminding us now.

They did, but then they also seemingly scrapped it even after Arkane was announced as the new dev team. Bethesda said it wasn't meeting their expectations.

I loved the gravity puzzles of the first one, and the graphics were pretty good for it's time, but the enemies and gunplay felt a bit too arcade for my tastes. I hope Bethesda let Arkane keep the darker look and feel that was introduced with their first teaser.

What I find strange is Wikipedia still shows Human Head as the dev team on the side bar details, but in the development story, indicates they are no longer involved and that Arkane is now the dev team.

I was kinda bummed that it's so far off from the original, but this demo gave me a little hope it might be a good game. To me, the best thing about Prey was the weirdness. There was definitely a bunch of weird stuff in the demo, I really hope that it's just not fluff.

No connection to bounty hunter because Prey 2 was cancelled. It's repeating Prey's (or even Doom 4 and Duke Nukem Forever) fate, which also was canceled and reimagined zillion times until they finally released it in 2006.

This new demo is interesting because it's not run-of-the-mill shooter, even though I hoped for sequel. Kinda would be cool to know what happed to Tommy after he drove the sphere to the Sun.

It was announced during that one game conference this year along with Dishonored 2, and some others. I've had it on my Steam wishlist since the announcement on August 29th.

Yeah it's just one of those things that happens from time to time.

When the original game came out I wasn't in a place where Internet and computers were readily available and even now that they are available The majority of my involvement with games these days is buying them to give away to other people here on tech power up, or for the kids

I wouldn't call this game Prey 2 - it's certainly looks good, but it doesn't have the feeling of the first one nor does it seem to play with gravity like the first one. I may pick up a copy when it comes out because it does look pretty good from the demo video.

I read an interview with Arkane, and because this went through so many off again on again bought and sold developers, when it got to Arkane, they decided to basically buy the name only. They decided to go with originality.

But Doom, despite being reimagined and all that also is one of the best shooter games this year if not more. Duke Nukem Forever on the other hand flopped on so many levels despite the renown name. So, name is not everything.
