I just built this rig, and I needed to re-install printer drivers, so I download them from HP and then I run the software and after it unpacks my ATI catalyst update software pops up and wants installs updates for my video card, I've looked and I don't see a way to disable the catalyst manager, this has never happened to me before, also I've been searching the web to see if anyone else has had this issue & I am unable to find it. here is a screen shot of what pops up.

AMD Catalyst has nothing to do with printer drivers. Either you downloaded the wrong file from HP or they have it listed wrong. Also, if you have Windows Update set to automatically update, make sure you go in there and tell it not to update your video drivers.

No I didn't download the wrong drivers, I've downloaded those driver 4 other times for 4 other PC's and it's the same thing, it's really weird I know the Catalyst has nothing to do with printer drivers, and it's the only drivers that it makes the Catalyst manager do that. First I got the whole package of software for this printer, then I tried just the basic drivers and it still make the Catalyst pop, I even let the Catalyst run all the way through but that did nothing.. IDK my next move is to try it in safe mode and if that doesn't work I'm going to uninstall the Catalyst manager, and then install it back again.

It won't manually extract. it just goes through the extraction then the catalyst pops up again :(

Give some specs for the hardware and printer(s) you're trying to install drivers to. I'm with Erocker, that's gotta be a wrong listing. I've never seen Catalyst install manager for anything but AMD/ATI products...and I've never known them to make printers. Have you uninstalled the graphics drivers and CCC and then installed the printer? can you provide the links to the download site(s) you're using? Need more info.

nope they are the same exact driver, thats a mistake HP made- not your graphics card.

Let me see if i can manually extract everything

Ok download the driver but dont execute it, then get a program called 7Zip, it can extract the executables contents into separate folders so you can manually install,
