problem when turning on PC :/

so this morning i went to turn pc on it didnt happen, what did happen
-power light turn on
-fans turn on
-it made some noise
-i hear like a crackling noise
-monitors did not come on

here are some things i have tried
- turning on with multiple different HDs 1 at a time
- checked all connections

i do use pc alot gaming many hours aday along with other stuff, my system specs are <tab at side any ideas what problem is?

Find what is making "crackling noise."

Replace what is making the "crackling noise."

Microphones are good for doing this.

no mic plugged in ,i unplugged all none essentials when attempting to turn back on ,
another thing i noticed, you know when you turn pc on and for a second fans sound like there are on max that doesnt happen

Open the case and first smell for burnt electronics due to the "crackling noise"

Then try to reset your bios

i did not see or smell any smoke burning,i cant get to bios all that happens when i turn on is power light on and fans

i should rephrase that too i heard a crackle noise

Either your motherboard or PSU is dead, MOST likely. It is possible something else has happened but if you can't get into BIOS there's a serious problem. Is it giving you any beeps or no?

I would bet your power supply has blown something. What model XFX PSU do you have? I have the 850watt black edition.

the screen doesn't work ... shuts down before POST

only way to know this is , does it make any beeps ?

first just check where the crack noise come from? usually its from HDD or maybe in your case is different
next like the others say, does it beep? beep has code that explains the condition of your computer, replug the speaker so you can be sure it beeps or not

Errgh don't like the sound of a crackle...

Unlug power to PSU.

Unlplug the DVD, HDD, SSD, RAM and USB connectors.
No excess peripherals, only the GPU taking up any of the slots.

Remove the CMOS battery, press the power button for five seconds to drain power from the system.

Put back the CMOS battery, plug in the power to the PSU and run the system.
Fingers crossed the system should make a continual beep.
Force shutdown by holding in the power button.
After that re install RAM.
After that, plug in your DVD and SSD.
Power it up again.

Being a bit over cautious here because I don't like the sound of any pop or crackle coming from a computer.

tried some of the advice
ordered a new psu last night [cooler master silent pro gold 700w] it come today hooked it up pc turns on but kept crashing within a couple of minutes,cleared cmos/ ran a memory test no errors/ did a fresh windows install on ssd started up and within 5 mins crashed .now plugged backup hd in and pc still on after 20 mins.i think maybe psu fucked and took ssd with it.going to try play some games now see if pc shits out on me i hope not firelands today!!!

When it gets to this level it will be a real PITA to locate the source of the problem : /
Check online at OCZ to see if there is an application which can check your SSD for issues.

Best of luck but with your results after the replacement of the PSU, yo maybe looking at a new SSD as well.

Hopefully you get a SATA 3 replacement

uggh i spoke to soon pc back to being balls again i give up on that shit ,just ordered 2500k /mobo/ram, looks like il be skiping bulldozer for now lol.

At first I was thinking it was a VRM but the symptoms didn't match up with an experience I had.

If the colour of your mb isn't black, you should be able to see a burn mark around one of the VRMs if they do not have a heatsink over them.
