Problem with HD 4870

Hi u all, im new one here and i kinda need some help.
I have a Sapphire HD 4870 512mb version and i don't get it if it has a problem or is smth else wrong. The porblem is, when i go to CCC , OC my card even just a little bit (from 750 to 770 and from 900 to 920) it starts to lagg and i lose performance in games. What im wondering is that am I doing smth wrong or is it just a bad OC'er ??

it's possible it's bad to oc.. but that is so slight you shouldn't really notice a difference. do you have any benchmarking software?

temps are ok i guess, It's 45C when idling and 60-70 on load, and i dont have a benchmarking software atm, whichone should i get ?

did a quick run with furmark, the benchmark test, with 770/920 it failed on 50% but with defaults 750/900 it passed it. max temp it gained was 76C, im kinda starting to think that this card does't OC at all!
