I have a notebook with an Ati mobility Radeon 8500 video card. I have installed counterstrike souce on this notebook.. i didn't work. So i tried driver for other video cards, because there was none for my video card. Then i had found one and it worked... no i had to reinstall windows and i have forgotten which driver i hat installed before.. so i had tried the whole weekend nearly any driver for any video card which the new catalyst driver is for. but none of them worked. Now is my question. Do you know any driver or anything else that i can install to play counterstrike source on my notebook?

    best regards
    Stellungsfestiger

P.s. i'm german, any mistakes in my english are not intended.

The newest catalyst should work for all of ATI's cards. Just download them and tweak them a bit.
What happens that causes it to not work?

Not sure if this will help:

Der neueste Katalysator sollte für alle Karten ATIS arbeiten. Gerecht sie downloaden und sie zwicken eine Spitze.
Was geschieht daß Ursachen es nicht zu arbeiten?

    :)

i had understand it in english.. but the german was also ok... when i install the newest catalyst so that i normally click on the install file it starts and then there is first this error:
INF error, Video driver not found.
and when i click on ok thsi error appears:
Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard vga driver before running setup.

i have also deleted the drivers and windows xp only detected a vga card and it didn't worked too...

Have you tried a software called drivercleaner? Google it and select it so it erases everything related to video drivers.
