Posting this here because I suspect it's a software issue.

Anyway, this always happen when I'm watching a video online ie vimeo, youtube and other videos embedded in online news portals.

It never happens for facebook videos, even though they're online as well.

It never happens when I'm watching a downloaded video or anything I have saved on disk, and it never happens while I'm gaming (and I do a lot of gaming).

What happens is this:

The pop-up windows start flashing like crazy saying that I unplugged/replugged/unplugged/replugged/unplugged/replugged/unplugged/replugged/ the centre/subwoofer speaker. It flashes like that at the rate of 5 times per second, I said it's really crazy.

What could be causing this? As I said I don't think it's an issue with my cables or speakers as such, because the problem never occurs while playing videos on facebook or while gaming.

And by the way, it also occurs when the speakers are powered off. :kookoo:

I've gotten this before on a realtech system. It wouldn't say it really fast ,but it does the "you plugged in an audio device" then "you unplugged an audio device" & it would do it several times, over and over again.

I'd love to tell you I recall what I did to fix it ,but sadly I don't specifically recall. I know I did try several things like changing bit rate, changing audio configuration from 5.1 to 7.1 ,and a couple other things. I think I might've had that "unlock real tech hack" installed as well ,that's hosted somewhere here on tech power up . The one that gives you thx & other stuff.

I do recall also going into bios, and messing around with audio & spdif options. Sorry i cant recall what i did, but I thought it might be good to know i have also experienced this too.
