Problem with new video card

I'm having a issue installing my new video card(EVGA GTX780ti SC ACX). When I try to boot the computer with the new card, before getting to the main MSI logo screen, my system hangs displaying the B2 boot code. It will display this code in the bottom right corner of the screen for 2-3 minutes with a non-blinking non-reactive cursor, then the code will disappear and the cursor starts blinking, but remains non-responsive. I have totally removed the drivers from my previous card. I have reset the my systems BIOS. I have tried the video card in a different PCIe slot. I have tried cleaning the contacts of the video card with a pencil eraser. My system has no issues when I reinstall my other card, a HD7770. The system I'm having problems with is the 2600k system in my sys specs. Any idea what is wrong before I start a RMA process with the card?

Card works just fine in my i7 860 system.

Thanks Law, but I've never updated the BIOS of the motherboard before. I tried to figure it out last night, but so far all I've managed to do is make a brand new thumb drive so my computer will not recognize it anymore. Would you be so kind as to provide me with exact and very detailed instructions on how to update my motherboard's BIOS.

Download bios -> extract files onto usb stick -> boot/reboot and enter the bios menu -> find bios update function -> ???????? -> Profit.

Oh and btw your stick must be fat32 file system.

Go to manufacturer website, download latest BIOS, put BIOS file on memory stick, and plug memory stick into PC while it's turned off (preferably in a USB port that IS NOT 3.0, and is one of the main board USB ports, not a third part port).
Boot and jump into the BIOS, go to whatever advanced mode might be available, and find the BIOS update option, somewhere at the end of the BIOS, usually referred to as flashing. It will ask you for a location of the BIOS update, simply select the memory stick and the file (It should be a nice easy GUI to navigate), and tell it to go (Enter or whatever). It pretty much does it all by itself, and will restart when done.

Uhh, did you copy the bios files onto the usb drive whilst it being in a folder?
If so, the bios files (that came in the archive) must be the only files on the usb drive.

You did unzip it right? (If it was zipped at all)
Make sure you didn't put it in any folders, and that it is on the root of the drive.

EDIT: LOL it's an executable. Run it from the pendrive from windows.

I did extract it, I only moved the file, not the whole folder to the thumb drive, and I also formatted the thumb drive to remove what Sandisk had on it. But as for the root folder, the drive was empty, so I don't know if there was something else I should have done.

I have to leave for work now, but please keep the suggestions coming. I'll be back in about 9-10 hours.

There's no need to run it from a usb drive, can be run from anywhere.
And imma slap myself for not checking that the bios file is an .exe

Christ, we've made the poor lad do some dumb stuff.

It was a BIOS issue. I posted on MSI forums and was advised to update to version 19.2 and the 780ti would work.

Hello ITS maybe long out of date, but thanks to scatler but the problem is even update BIOS to 19.2 version my GTX 1050 still not displaying. It make me confused but a bit of patience...

Go to bios menu change display adapter to PAGE (while ur Vga still plug in) then save & reboot, after a while if your monitor blank plug out HDMI from your onboard to Vga card itu maybe take 5-10 sec then itu will reboot ini my case it success my monitor not blank again itu display with Nvidia GTX series when reboot.

I hope that help other if update BIOS still got blank screen
