check profile to see the hardware

BF4 is a very demanding game with large maps. Put all your settings on low. Play maps with less then 30 players. I feel your pain I remember those days

It drops FPS when you get explosions and firefights right? This is the very reason I have the hardware I do. BF4 is probably the most demanding game out there

Your CPU could be causing it as it is only a dual core. I think this is most likely the case.

Your HDD could be causing it as well since you say its usage is at 100%. Check the HDD for errors.

It's WD Blue, these are not the WD performance series, but I don't think they are that slow. Try disabling vSync from ATI control panel and may be AA and AF as well. I know you might not have them enabled in the game's menu but it might help. Do you have many background programs while playing BF? Skype- talking?

Run a bench mark to see if its up to its potential. 3Dmark or Heaven Benchmark. Post your scores. But the reality is your not even at the minimum requirements of the game

defrag hard drive, disable antivirus.

you already said your hard drive was choking at 100%, so thats likely the problem.

Try 32 bit mode. Its always stable/reliable for me when 64 bit acts up.

that would imply an overclocking instability in your hardware. lots of people ran into similar with the move from XP 32 bit to vista/7 x64 - 'stable' OC's suddenly werent (because the stability testers were 32 bit, they didnt stress the x64 parts of the CPU/IMC)

bit off topic tho - i'm still really leaning towards the antivirus.

But the game is wonky sometimes. I know what you mean though.

i found on another topic that the ram becomes 100% usage and the game intend to use the virtual memory which is on the hard disk and which is slower than the ram and that is what causing this problem this right ?

btw i downloaded the Heaven Benchmark when i install it . it stucks at 50% !!

i will try to run with compatibility with windows 7 in 32x bit then i will reply agian
