Problem with VTX3D HD 7870 Black Edition

Hello everyone. I have a problem with my VTX3D HD 7870 Black Edition video card. In my opinion it is a problem that I always had but I never solved it because I could still play with games. But with the adrenalin drivers I have the problem that the video card does not me recognizes (both with windows 7 and with windows 10). this means that it is unusable. Now I show you what I analyzed with GPU-Z.
IMG_20190406_210446.jpg

From how you can see from the picture the GPU frequencies and Memory by default gives a senseless value. While those of current use gives 0MHz. Now I have studied the situation a bit and I am not convinced even the bios loaded on the card for a VTX3D HD 7870 Black Edition. On your site for this card the last bios is 015.032.000.000.000000, why is my bios 015.042.000.000.000000 version on my card? is the bios wrong? The Device ID and the processor (Pitcairn, not Tahiti LE) is also different. Maybe that's why the card has this problem? Should I try to change the bios? Please help me. Thanks.

You already flashed the bios didn't you. ;)

Get off the beta driver.

No, I never updated the BIOS. I bought it (and I add new) on the internet.

The BIOS version you have now, appears to be from this card: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/156536/156536
It looks like it may be this BIOS if your GPU has Hynix memory: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/136043/136043
Or this one if Elpida memory: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/161365/161365

So how do I update the BIOS? And which version do I choose?

I was having major problems with the latest drivers and my R9 280X on Windows 7. They seemed to work fine on Windows 10. But I would just get a black screen on the desktop after install and reboot with W7. I eventually just gave up trying to install newer drivers. I can't remember the exact details, it's been a while now since I've used the 280X(I've moved on to my Vega 64, and haven't used the 280X in many many months). That's the basic gist of it though.

TL;DR
Older gen cards + latest AMD drivers + Windows 7 =:nutkick::wtf::kookoo::shadedshu:

Disassemble the video card and remove the plastic and read the type of chip or is there any reliable software that allows me to read the type of chip?

Removing the shroud and cooler is the easiest way, but you will have to repaste the gpu and possibly replace thermal pads.
As for flashing another bios on the card, I'll leave that to the experts.

If you never flashed the bios since you bought it new, that's not the problem. Leave that alone.
Find an older driver that works for you.

If he bought this card on the internet there ain't no telling what's on the card. But yeah I would say try older driver first.

After that we can always try to look at the ram that is on the card and the white sticker information on the back of the card or on the heat sink

Ok. Tomorrow I will install the drivers I have on the CD that came out of the video card. I have none older than those. I will update you.

You don't need the CD Driver.

You can get older drivers from AMD on their website.

Make sure you have chipset drivers installed too...

Yea looks like a cooky bios, as mentioned try older drivers though I can't see that being the issue here, if that doesn't work provide the GPU serial number printed on the white sticker somewhere on the GPU and the vram chip manufacturer, you will need to remove the cooler to look at these so take care when doing so but as long as you do you should be fine. With that info we can then locate the correct bios file for you and direct you how to flash it when you are ready.

Hello, I did the various tests that I will now show you. First I uninstalled the drivers with DDU from safe mode. The result without the installed drivers is this.

Information without driver installed with GPU-Z.jpg

Then I installed the older drivers

Version Driver installed.jpg

The result is the same

Information with driver ATI Catalyst installed.jpg

A different result is had with HWINFO64

Information within driver installed with HWINFO64.jpg

but always meaningless.

I noticed something with both GPU-Z and HWINFO64. Both software read "Elpidia" as the type of memory

informazioni scheda video.jpg
HWinfo.jpg

Is this information true? Or do I still have to disassemble the video card to check for the choice of the BIOS to load?
Thank you very much for your availability. I am waiting for information.

from the looks of your screen shot it's looking more like a bug in GPUz than anything actually wrong with the card itself if you open both GPUz and HWinfo and then click ? next to the Bus Interface box in GPUz does HWinfo register an increase in clocks

That 3D test needs D3D9 executables so download them it tells you to do that.

You have the correct BIOS on that card according to the numbers on the back and GPU-z.
Your card is NOT a "Black" edition and that BIOS will not work.
As I previously said, you have this card: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/156536/156536 which has a different shroud which was sold in the EU market.

As mentioned above, you will have to use an old driver as current drivers do not cover legacy cards such as yours.

Dorset where else eh? >>> Thats ENGLAND<<<
Your Card NEEDS some tlc Specificly it needs cleaning or are you breeding dust bunnies !
if your competant with dissasembly then take off the shroud and cooler
give it a very good cleaning.
take the pics of the GPU die and mem chips ( as i believe they were requested)
and post them here along with pics of all white stickers.
REPASTE YOUR GPU and re-assemble
if your not competant to do this ASK someone who you trust to do it for you
