Maybe my Fanatec Clubsport will work out of the box with this. I was part of P Cars from very early on, but got put off by terrible wheel support and spending most of them time trying to get settings just right for each car on the wheel. While I could just grab my Xbox 360 controller and post just as fast times with no setup.

I was so excited when project cars was originally announced years back the only thing greater than my excitement was the let down once I actually played it. I hope this one's better. Genuinely, The world needs a non-Forza/Gran Turismo quality race game

Project Cars 1 is great, I really enjoy playing it when I need my racing fix. Especially cool in VR with a racing wheel.

I was somebody who bought into PC very early on. I've received several PayPal payments from their profit sharing. Was a pretty cool experience.

First one was a mixed bag for me. The graphics were nice but had a problem with serious texture flicker at times, mostly the background scenery. The tracks and cars were nice but they forced rain on you at the worst time, and it always made traction go to hell.

I was a bit surprised the cars handled as well as they did with KB, though with assists of course. I managed to beat it on Med AI. Some on wheels weren't faring any better, as suggested above, which seems unfair to them.

Really don't know if I'll be interested in this one. While I'm confident they have analog filtering nailed for KBs, there's a lot of other things to consider. I'll probably wait until I see a fair amount of player feedback.

Moar seasonal weather sounds good, the weather in PC1 is lots of fun.

Moar tracks is always good.
I really want them to do some ovals.
And historic Spa would be great- they developed this for PC1 but never released it .

Apart from that I hope they have concentrated on fixing the obvious faults.

IMO PC1 is a great game, if they sort out the pitstops and the AI physics in PC2 they don't really need to do that much else.
There might be an issue if they used all their time to add new features without fixing what was wrong with the first iteration.

I hope they really try and get all IMSA Weathertech and WEC cars in game.
I remember when we had oval tracks in early development in pCars. Hope for Daytona Oval and Infield. Could fall to endless death on the ovals...

I went ahead and bought it. Seems pretty good so far, they have made a decent effort to resolve the issues with PC1 which people were complaining about IMO.
It is basically the same game with more cars, more tracks, plus rally and rallycross.

The sound in particular is much better.
The weather and day/night thing is even better than PC1.
The tracks now rubber in, though this is a disadvantage if it rains.

Generally speaking the cars are less liable to spin out but more liable to understeer under braking. This can actually be a bit of a problem with some road cars but I guess this is quite realistic- most unmodified road cars will understeer IRL if pushed hard.

The AI is a bit less psycho (though still not perfect).

There is now historic Spa and Monza, and three ovals (not incuding the oval at historic Monza). Lack of ovals in the first game was a major ommission IMO.

I've hardly scratched the surface yet (haven't tried rally yet) but on first impressions it is a substantial improvrement on PC1.

I first tried project cars on a pad while it was still in beta and i semi liked the game but not enough to buy it but then a few years later i got a thrustmaster T150 wheel and Pcars and loved it even tho the game had many bugs/issues. I then sold the T150 and got the T300 and loved the game even more but then i also got assetto corsa and wow what a game that is to

I have now just bought Pcars 2 and can't wait to try it out but going to take 2 hours to download and be bed time before its done lol

From everything i have watched online, this game has had many improvements and it might still have its issues but i do not care just want to play it so roll on tommorow morning wooo \o/

At least they didn't completely annihilate performance on AMD cards this time around.

It wasnt just the visual performance, the game actually seemed to favour Nvid with lap times too. I am consistently 2-3 seconds quicker round Nords in formula A using Gtx 970 as opposed to HD 7970 ( played with Gtx 680 too...same)

That's really weird.

I still remember the developers trying to come up with endless excuses on why performance was garbage on AMD cards and how it isn't their fault. All this while having the Nvidia logo plastered all over the game. I understand sponsored titles are thing but sometimes things are taken to an unacceptable extreme.

Well at least things improved since then.

It started off as a lesson to a young friend who thought he could perform better after a couple of pints of beer ( IDIOT).

Even after one pint his driving got worse and the proof was in the paperwork....we have tried other intoxicants too and they all impair driving skills.

I tried a similar experiment with Gran Turismo 2 once. Can confrm even just one beer will significantly increase lap times and increase the chances of running into the scenery. I found results vary with other intoxicants.

I like the new game but had a fair few thrustmaster t150 issues initially , with a two to three millisecond delay between input and action, ended up being the usb3 port i used , swapped to another and that got fixed.
Then last night racing a mate we noticed it kept raining halfway through races for him yet in the same race it was sunny for me, using dynamic weather is a bit too dynamic apparently.
But i have to say it drives well.
Knock hill is exactly like The knock hill in that hyper car racing on it is comedy gold due to the excellent undulating track , good fun.

I mentioned it because ,who checks mid race, i certainly do not, if my friend hadn't bitched about it the first three attempts at a race (forced weather needs application to each phase of the race nit one setting???)i would not have known.
