Make sure you get high resolution load cell pedals, as the pedals are the key to speed and control.
IMO the G27 is more precise, the movement of the wheel is more natural than the DFGT, the FFB more subtle.
In netKar Pro with the DFGT at Trento Bondone i always strugle to control the car at those 2 gear 180 degress turns, with the G27 is so much easier because IMO it let you know much better than the DFGT where or what the wheels are doing. Much better during power slides. Less noisy than the DFGT and way better build quality.
Wheel is great.
Shifter is a toy, i'll build one myself (I think they are all mediocre)
Pedals are a mixed bag, as i don't like them right out of the box, but they are easy to mod. Clutch is too hard, brake is completely useless it doesn't feel like a brake at all, gas pedal is fine maybe a little to hard.
Pedals are important to sim racing, but probably irrelevant to simcade racing.
G27 is an excellent product, but longterm, one would probably want to add Clubsport pedals and maybe even a CSRe hahahahahaahha
damnit i think i am too late to the party!
BTW this looks really EPIC! WIsh you guys well!

Hi everyone, been a long time since i last posted. The main reason for this was the lack of any major news I could post for you guys to read, but now I’m able to do so and you guys will just go nuts for sure.
Let’s begin with the best one so far, the FSA issues are now solved!
That’s right folks, they allowed SMS to keep on going with the World of Mass Development but with some small changes to the system for the future Projects in order to fulfill the regulations imposed by the FSA. These changes will be known in the upcoming weeks when another announcement will be made and the announcement will be….
Project CARS goes to NEXT-GEN Consoles!SMS is now an official developer for Playstation 4 and probably also to Durango (Xbox720) once it comes out, the development will be a side Project and will be known in the next weeks how you can participate in it.
As if this wasn’t enough already more great news were shared with us by the Slightly Mad Team, Mercedes is now officially licensed and will include the following babies!
Are you enjoying the news so far? Hope so, because it isn’t over yet !
A major update in the physics department was also announced, coming this week with a improvement tread model called FlashTread will bring the following features:
And much, much more
It’s still not over guys!
The developers also announced a new Formula to compete in Project CARS, the Formula C. After last week release of the Formula Gulf 1000 they mentioned that there would be another formula to compete with and this week they shown us the first prototype of the new car to participate which looks amazing but due to its early WIP state I’m not able to show it …yet.
There’s also a new sun flare tech introduced recently that is able to produce some of the most amazing flares we have seen so far in a game, still in a early state they will change and adapt to the weather conditions and time of the day giving you a lot of variety in terms of visuals, they just look amazing and you can see that by yourselves in the 2 images below taken by our community members Kmax1 and Kelnor34.
We also celebrated recently 1000 members in our Steam Group, all the important news and events are posted there in a regular basis so if you want to know everything first hand be sure to check it out, its open for everyone to join and you can also talk with us in the Group Chat.
That’s all for now, hope you all enjoyed these great news and see you soon!
This game is shaping up to look realy good and i can see myself buying it on release.
Thanks for all the info everyone has been posting.
Yup im gonna be buying it too! really good graphics!
I can't remember if it has been mentioned in this thread, but is there going to be brake fade? I really hope so.
CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS GAME TO COME OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got playing, did 60 lap kart race was fun(I won of course ), can't wait for more stuff.
Brake fade is already in THE_EGG and it can also be influentiated by the weather conditions.
:0 tis a must buy for me then when it eventually comes out. CAN'T FREAKING WAIT!
Very nice, not normally into racing games, much rather work on my own car then play them, but im sold on this purley for the Capri cannot wait
How long left have we got to wait?
Cant be sure, still waiting for feedback on the new system. Ill be sure to keep you guys posted.
Could someone please fast forward the time machine to the release date ? 10x
Cant wait for it i`m a junior member but i`m not installing the builds as not to spoil the fun, the only reason in 3 years to get my G25 out of the closet and play.
Keep up the good work.
So after the turbulence created by the big news of last weeks there's usually a calm, at least this is what you would expect... but i must say the fun never ends with Project CARS, so lets dig into the new stuff!
As you read last week, Mercedes is now officially licensed and to celebrate the developers released the first export (read as early WIP) of the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3.
As you might notice, for a early export it looks already really good, sadly theres no cockpit images as its still lacking a lot of detail but that will come out eventually.
Besides the new vehicle theres also some pretty hot stuff, so hot we only heard about it today, Oculus Rift Dev Kit has just arrived at the Studios and the PC Render Coder is already fiddling with it, expect exciting news SMSoon!
The community has also been attacking strongly the API and have been developing some pretty amazing apps for everyone to use, you can find some videos through Youtube and there's already an Android version available for the public to test @ Google Play Store
To finish this up here's another amazing video by Jonz showcasing one of the biggest multiplayer events in Project CARS:
Hope you guys have enjoyed the new info, have a great weekend!
Just saw this video which in it's description says:
gamepad filter on
driving aids off (Are you kidding me!?)
Now granted it may not be top of the leaderboard driving, but it's pretty damn good and WAY better than I expected with KB, if that's what he's using, esp if assists are off. Maybe good enough to win races with lower AI settings too. It may improve quite a bit with further development refinement as well.
Can someone tell me what the "gamepad filter" is though? I was wondering if it makes the steering feel more analog on KB, like the games that are coded to be able to arc a turn by holding down the steer keys.
Gamepad filtering is like mouse smoothing, some may enjoy the feeling but when i used my DualShock3 i couldnt stand it.
OK, thanks, I can't help but think it would be necessary with KB to be able to steer that smoothly. Looking forward to seeing what refinements they offer with further development.
When is this game suppose to release?
Probably 2014. But its fun to play now.
Buying a G27 tonight, getting it for $200. Can't wait. Can't believe how well those things have held their value though, I've been waiting on a newer Logitech wheel but looks like it may not ever come. I'll be satisfied with this fora while. Can't wait to actually play Project CARS for real!
Yeah I have heard great things about the G27, for me i'm waiting to get some money and get Fanatec CSW Set, I just hope it's supported on Xbox One...
I can't see paying that much for anything TBH. I'm not that hard core of a player given, but that stuff is nuts! I prefer to put money into my real life "racecar" lol. Must feel nice though.
