4/5 USB devices
2 GIG DDR2 800 MHZ
Radeon XT1900
Maybe a Hauppage TV Card

I was also looking to overclock the cpu a bit as well

Any advice would be appreciated

Stick with the hyper, the Generic PSU's included in most case "Deals" are usually low quality. Why take a chance the Low Quality psu will blow taking other components(like the motherboard) with it.

Replace it with the Hiper mate. I've got one and it's an awesome PSU.

2 Hiper units. All still standing.

Every single person I know who has a Hiper is still working, granted they are all Type-Rs but they still stand. Not only that but Hiper is now producing new 80+ compliant PSUs, which does requires a certain degree of quality wouldn't you agree?

Its not like they all will fail in 5 sec. and failure of PSu isn't the only think that goes into quality.
if you go and look at reviews of any PSU, they don't just test if PSU is working or not. there are plenty of other requirement for PSU to be a high quality

I know, but from my experience with Hiper they fit the catergory of "quality PSU". They may not be the best, but they are damn good.

coolermaster is ok, but your much better off with a better quality psu if you can afford one but you dont "need" to replace it since it will supply the power you need for your system.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with using lesser quality brand psu but they do have a higher % of failure rates (1 out of 1000 might fail vs say 1 out of 5000 for a better quality psu) and any time a psu fails it can take out any component in your system or it may not harm anything else at all, its all just pure luck as to what gets damaged. think of having a better quality psu as getting insurance against it going out, there is no way to say the better psu wont fail but having one can reduce the chance of having problems.

hmmm it was just easier if i could have used that psu and case. well I'll take my current setup and put it in that case and install my new core2duo setup into the antec p180 and hiper psu. Cheers for the help. btw the modular hiper type r i am using dosen't fit into an antec p180 very well. Much better to buy one of the normal ones in my humble opinion! Cheers

hipers (with the exclusion of type R's, which i believe are good) are very very notorious for using fugisitu(however the hell its spelled) caps. though i've been told that R series hipers are good. and cooler master psus are a mixed bag. btw the psu guide is a little outdated =/ gotta update it over christmas.

Some things to keep in mind;
Electronics are not "IDEAL". IF you get a PSU with the exact wattage you "need" then you will probably end up having to replace more than just the PSU, soon.
PSU's are the heart of your system, if your heart is always beating as fast as possable (to keep up with the demand) it won't last very long. The harder the PSU works the more heat it generates.

A PSU that supplies more power than you need works less hard and last longer.
Always pay attention to the power requirements of the GPU (in watts).

When Buying a NEW PSU, get the BEST, QUALITY PSU you can afford with MORE power than you "need". This allows room for future upgrades, and will give you better overclocks, smoother operation, and the PSU will last longer and run cooler because it's not working so hard to supply the draw of your system.
