PSU-Corsair vs XFX

Hello guys am stuck on theses two PSU Corsair HX850w or XFX XXX Edition 850w
Both are rated Silver 80+ Now the corsair comes with more like 6 x 6+2pin PCI-E Power vs XFX 4x witch I dont need that because never will I want to have more than two GPU's
Price XFX is £105, Corsair £130

Total PC prices is 1,118 but I have a £50 bluray drive witch can be changed to standard DVD burner and Also have Msi hd6970 witch I want to change to a HD7950 so this is where am trying to save more towards it.

Well both of them are good, the XFX is based on Seasonic. All of the PCI-E cables are hardwired so it might get overly cluttered in the case but it should be fine. I read a swedish review that said it was a bit loud when stressed heavily, but newegg reviews say it's quiet. Hard to tell with noise.

But yeah, you can save some money there.

Thanks alot for reply. Is there any others about same price XFX but a proper modular? like corsair plug in only what you need.
Or am I asking to much lol

For that price and effect range I think it's hard to find something that is fully modular. You'd have to up the price a bit.

Four years ago...the HX1000 was made by Seasonic? I only buy Seasonic PSU's if I can help it. I don't know who's making Corsair's power supplies now, but I've had to either send them back or get them RMA'd enough to stop buying them until QA improves.

Thanks for making me aware of Seasonic producing the XFX series PSU's, I'll take another look at their series.

sorry to say my Corsair PSU lasted a week, think the 4870x2 killed it, from what i remember it was a quad rail 800 watt, was advertised as modular but wasnt, i worked out from google the 4870x2 that draws about 24 amps, each single rail was only 18amp, so i took it back and they replaced it with a silverstone DA1000 (80A)12V single rail, np since.

HX1000 is made by CWT, PUC platform. HX850 also made by CWT, but DSG platform.

XFX use Seasonic since their 650W XXX (Seasonic S12EP-650).
Their 750W and 850W black edition based on Seasonic M12D platform.
The latest XFX, XFX Pro Series 1250W Black Edition, also based on Seasonic Platinum platform (SS-1000XP), although XFX lowered its certification to 80+ GOLD to achieve higher wattage.

Corsair has been mixed their OEM lately (oh, wait they always mixed between Seasonic and CWT for a long time).
The new CX and GS all made by CWT.
The new TX V2 (non modular) all made by Seasonic, but the new TX-M (modular TX) all made by CWT.
AX series made by Seasonic (X series), but AX1200 made by Flextronics.

The oem for the corsair AX model PSUs is seasonic and they come with a 7 year warranty. My last PSU had only a 2 year warranty and died after 2 and a half. So this time I gladly paid a small premium for a longer warranty.

The 7 year warranties are nice. I didn't even have my receipt for my HX850 when it went bust since zipzoom went out of business, but the model hasn't even existed for 7 years so there was no doubt it was covered.
