Still on a first gen HX750 that's been through 2 major builds and 2 overhauls or upgrades to said builds in the past 6 years I've owned it. Bought it used from here.

My original HX520 from when that model was first released is still pushing an old Core2 6850 + 4GB ddr2 + DFI P35 build. That's gotta be pushing 9 years now.

There's a PC Power and Cooling that's a year or maybe two younger than the HX520 still floating around powering my old Q9650 + 8GB DDR2 + P45 build.

Theres a very hard working Corsair CX430 in my kids' PC (see SIG) that's been thru hell the past 5 years...pushing that system + a GTX 570 and later a more power efficient GTX660. Its the first gen CX as well...that PSU surprised me as I never truly expected it to still be working...especially with the 570...

The PSU brands that haven't lasted for me has consistently been Antec and XFX. I no longer use products from either brand. :)

My experiences may differ from.many of you or not...but figured I'd share anyways!

Still got a TX750 (7+) rocking, ThermalTake BlackWidow 850 (5+), and my AX1200 (~5). I abuse the crud out of them too.

MY old Corsair HX620W lasted me 2008 - 2015. Starting this year my pc would power on, post, then power off. Second attempt it would be fine until next shutdown. Replaced with RM750 and no more issues.

RIP, my HX620. Loved that PSU, saw me through a good 4 builds, including a hungry overclocked 1100T with 2x 5850s overclocked in crossfire.

I just noticed that with my psu recently. I don't shut mine down very often but will look into a replacement soon :)

So far I had really good luck with my PSUs:
- Rocketfish 700W Modular (Huntkey) still works since 2007 or 2008, I think
- Antec 500W modular is doing good in my brother's PC, considering I bought it in '09 already used (exact age unknown)
- Chieftec 400W PSU was re-purposed into a lab PSU. In service since '05, when it arrived inside Chieftec case. Now replaced with equally crappy Zalman ZM-500LE
- Athenapower 400W SFX PSU is on my desk right now. Small and perfect for testing motherboards and low/mid end videocards (only 1x 6-pin PCI-E). Bought it about the same time as Antec PSU.

The only two power supplies that died on me were:
1) A no-name PSU inside an older HP Pavilion simply stopped working
2) Another generic PSU(Sunbeam or Dynex? Can't remember) all of the sudden blew up in sparks and smoke, taking a 250GB HDD and a BFG nForce 4 Ultra motherboard to computer heaven.

My old Vitsuba 450w (18a@12v) is still working from 2005, now in my brother's pc because it can't power my 980 without some serious undervolt (3.7GHz@1.33v xD). It's original owner was using it to power a g80 8800GTS 320MB + Athlon 64 X2 5600+.

The only time one of my PSUs died was when playing an F-22 simulator on an AMD K6-2 @ 500MHz + Geforce MX4000. It just went silent.

Oh. And almost forgot about the 950W Coolmax GreenPower PSU. Bought it in Dec. 2009 for my i7 rig. Never got as far as pushing 2-way SLI on EVGA GTX 275s, so I traded it in 2012 for something more useful.

Also had a TT Toughpower 750W (not the newer DPS model), but I only used it for 2 years. Can't really draw any conclusions about quality/longevity, but it did an excellent job powering my Phenom rig with a pair of HD3870s in CF.

Blasting lead for "5+" suggestion. It seems early observation leads to the conclusion, fairly expensive PSU's from perceived as reputable manifacturers used with good care and safe home electrical network can swiftly pass the 5-year-mark of exploitation .

There is no substitute for not abusing hardware... and I don't mean abuse as in overclocking but, taking the time to keep it clean so it can stay cool. Heat kills electronics. Period.

The only PSU I have ever had go was a CM600 EXTREME!!!
I think it only lasted a year...if that..
Other than that I had a Rosewill 595w PSU that was questionable...
I just replace them after 4-5 years now
