Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
Looks way too cheap and also whats the deal with the 970 in first link ?
errrr... it's not even half the price of a 1060 6gb and quite close to a BNIB 3gb where i live ...

funny to see a second hand that is that expensive ... a 1060 6gb is 130-150$~ where i live (and that's one with 2-3 month of use, perfect condition and non miner card )

We are not so lucky here in the Islamic Caliphate of Canuckistan. Prices are out of this world.

So he sent reply - he will take picture before packing it up and sending it out today.

he said he is offloading all his older than 1080 GPU's. So I guess it was for cryptomining.

hey man, at least it was better than my last GPU and will actually fit my x51 since my 970 wouldn't fit :p

Well your first mistake was wasting money on an alienware.

But GPU wise, as long as the receipt/order history says you have a GTX 1060 6GB on the way that's what he has to send you or you'll get a refund.

Also you mentioned being skeptical of internet shopping, just buy the stuff on amazon next time and have 0 worries about what you're getting and get good customer support. You won't find those 2 things at many other places nowadays.

I do normally shop at Amazon. But prices for GPU's are highway robbery.

As for the Alienware, it is the x51 which I like and I got it used for $400. So I am not really mad or disappointing in that. I wanted something small and most mitx setups even if building myself would have cost me close to $1K.

So I guess it was for cryptomining.
then it's too expensive ...
how is it compared to one of you retailer/etailer pricing? if not 50% cheaper ... not worth it at all ... (and with a full function warranty from the ebay seller ... because if it's a miner card, the EVGA warranty is "bye-bye", well ... if you would ever need a RMA later ofc ... )

compared to my previous good deal in form of a R9 290 4gb at 150$ (which is in the same performance range, okay ... more power hungry tho  )

Well your first mistake was wasting money on an alienware.
i was trying to not point it up ... ( a bit like i try to not have any facial tics when i hear/read "Razer best brand fo' gamerz!" )

Also you mentioned being skeptical of internet shopping, just buy the stuff on amazon next time and have 0 worries about what you're getting and get good customer support. You won't find those 2 things at many other places nowadays.
i order from Etailer (local or national) Aliexpress (never had a serious issue aside one single package that got lost during transit, but no fake/scam/fraud/whatever, the key is looking at the review and being a bit cautious ) and a bit from Ebay/ricardo.ch (the second is a local auction site, although it's more for collection hardware than actual )

actually the worse thing are: greedy retailer and these people who sell stuff in second hand above 75% of the initial buy price (specially when 3+ month of use or even worse in case of mining )
oh ... i can be the later, tho ... i can sell my 1070 at 500$ and still be 100$ cheaper than retail and only 26$ cheaper than when i did buy it ... although being someone reasonable ... i would rather sell it in the 350$ range

We are not so lucky here in the Islamic Caliphate of Canuckistan. Prices are out of this world.
you are nowhere close to Switzerland's madness in term of pricing ... see the expected price of 1500$ for the future 1180? well it's the price of a single 1080Ti, the 1180 will probably be closer to 2000$

As for the Alienware, it is the x51 which I like and I got it used for $400.
mmhhh if you got it at that price ... okay (tho it's not the price that make Alienware a turd )

I understand the hatred for alienware and what not, and most prebuilds. But the reasoning was as explained, I needed an mitx as I just really hate having a large tower these days thanks to my little ones, and unfortunately the custom built is very expensive here. Just check out prices on newegg.ca or canadacomputers and you will get a good idea as what kind of prices - average GTX 1060 6gb up here is over $400 CAD brand new. DDR4 mem at 16gb goes for $250 for half decent stuff, etc etc etc. So getting a pre built, even if closed and as you guys say is lousy - it does what I want it to do for most part. Just except being able to hold my gtx970.

Nothing wrong with buying a used mining gpu really. They have a few years of life in them no problem - but only if the price is right tbh. These should be considered 2 years old in terms of usage/price point.

Well, dude was kind enough to send me pics before shipping out the card. It sure looks like the GPU and all. Waiting for it to arrive.

While I agree, it seems a lot are still being sold with a modified mining BIOS.
If I bought one I would appreciate the card returned to stock factory settings.

From what I know nvidia card at least Pascal and up don't allow VBIOS modification. It's only for AMD cards pre-Vega that have this problem. I'm thinking of buying RX580 for cheap (near RX560 price) but he's running modded VBIOS, and said he lost the original bios he stored in the drive when he sold his mining rig.
