Q6600 G0 2 cores disabled

I haven't been able to figure this out for the life of me. I was only seeing 2 cores in the BIOS under system info, but I flashed the latest 0601 BIOS for my P5K deluxe and now I see 4 in system info.
Under task manager I only get 2 graphs. In CPU-Z I only see 2 cores as well.
In device manager I see 4, and I've tried uinstalling them and rebooting (for the drivers....)
I have tried resetting the CMOS as well...I really just can't think of anything else that could be causing this
I dumped my registers in CPU-Z to a .txt file and this is where I saw '2 cores disabled.'

I tried that, and it was set to 2 from when I had the E6600 on.....I'll uncheck the box and see what happens.

THis isn't a fresh install of windows either. Task manager may not be reading correctly, but then neither is CPU-Z.

I'm not sure how cpu-z reads your cpu, as far as I know it could be reading it from the same thing that task manager is reading it from... :-/

you can disable the cores and stuff in the bios, so check the bios for disabled cores.

Ok I fixed the issue. I recently edited my boot.ini settings in msconfig. I went to the boot.ini tab, then advanced, then checked the '# of processors' tab, and selected 2. This fixed it.

G0, and damn right! I already bumped it to 3GHz, which is the same as my E6600 (which is for sale)
I'm going to see what else it can do with low voltage. I'm not keen on turning voltage past Intel absolute max......but I know these G0s are amazing in that aspect.

I'm now running 3.4 with 1.38V Vcore after VDroop, 1.39 before. I set it to 1.425 in BIOS, and I ran 4 threads of Prime95 for 1h23min with no errors. I'm going to run it all day at work tomorrow.
The strange thing is that when I went to run an arithmetic bench in SiSoftware SANDRA I locked up and had to hard boot.....THREE times in a row. That's strange because SANDRA doesn't stress the CPU as much as Prime/Orthos as far as lockups and errors are concerned. It's almost immediately and it seems to be the same spot every time.
There is a little circular shaped timer that shows the percentage complete with a little animation, and it locks up every time on the 7 o'clock position.
Well off to try out Crysis demo.....
