QI Wireless charger really wireless?

I havr bought following QI Wireless Charger from eBay India.

I thought it will charge wirelessly but in fact it is not..plz.clear.my confusion.

It won't need to plug in cable into phone but I need to plugin cable into charging pad..isn't it?
Then what's benefit? How it is wireless?

I thought without plugging into charging pad.also it will charge mobile like powerbank...

The purpose of wireless chargers is that they must be plugged in, and they are merely a resting pad for you phone to lay on so you don't have to plug or unplug the phone constantly. It's meant to be stationary and rather permanent, so you can wander into you office or whatever, place your phone down on the pad and your phone gets charged.

I'd never buy a wireless charging pad from eBay though. Could be a potentially unsafe Chinese copy.

The wireless charger must be plugged in, and your phone must have a Qi receiver in it.

All it really does is saves you the effort of plugging in the cable, and saves wear and tear on your USB port.

It charges slower than USB, and gets hotter as well.

So I can continuously keep power on for charging pad or only when I wanna charge mobile and place it on charging pad?
Power adapter gets too hot within 15min...

the cheap ones get hot all the time, and heat the phone up too. i only tried cheap ones and gave up, the expensive (~$100) genuine ones arent quite as bad.

seems pointless to throw money at something that charges my phone slower.

That depends on your charging pad - if it gets hot when there is no phone on it, unplug it. Personally i dont find it useful at all, unless the charging port on your phone is broken.
