i love the prices for these nas systems, for $400 i could build an ITX htpc that blows this thing away in functionality .

*yawn* Wake me up when a chip vendor implements PROPER SubStationAlpha Style and position support. Otherwise, this is just yet another half-baked NAS box to capitalize on those who really do not know or care about complete subtitle support. :banghead:

I like its sleek looks. Pricing/features ratio is a turn down, as always.

Active fan cooling. HATE that on a device that sits in an AV setup.

HTPC won't ever use 20W under load hence I don't know why you guys think this is overpriced.
Sleek looking player it just lacks passive cooling as CB mentioned but with that power consuption I don't think this will be an issue. My Harman Kardon amp has a huge fan and I never heard it>

Agreed. Still gonna stick with PS3 Media Server using Avisynth/Mencoder streaming to my PS3 for now. Not perfect, but better than most.

Because I can get a HTPC + extras for that money? I'll sacrifice a little wattage for something that actually has some versatility in addition to proper format support.
