QPI PLL ( I am confused )

I am confused about what QPI PLL is, i have been googling but i haven't found a concrete answer and all this could be because people call/name it depends the Mobo.


So, i hope someone here with a good Bios knowledge can give me a good explanation.

It should be QPI bus generator voltage.

What it is actually that depends on the maker and the chinese behind the translation.

PLLs in Intel CPUs are usually used for clock multiplication from the base clock. PLLs use active feedback to adjust clock frequencies so, a PLL will adjust to the clock that feeds it and usually can lock on to a clock speed very quickly which is why it is used for this purpose as most stable clock gens won't operate in the gigahertz range. I would also argue that it's easier to multiply a lower frequency clock than it is to divide a higher one.

More often than not, PLL voltages can be left alone.
