If you did not choose your system specs accurately or do not meet them we are unable to assist you. The form is a one time only form. The beta requires a certain hardware level and does not allow anyone to sign up that doesn't meet this requirement. Customer Service cannot change this action for you unfortunately.

There wasnt a 8800 768 listed so I chose "Nvidia Other." I guess thats what screwed me...

Ok, was about to try it and got a CTD with this message:

Image '_default' was generated with internal format 0x83f0 but GL returned 0x83f2

I'm using TweaksR'US 97.92 drivers, Any ideas?

EDIT: Installed 160.02 drivers and still got same error, looked at the beta forums and found this:

* Download, install, and run RivaTuner
* In the "Driver Settings" section of the "Main" tab, click the triangle button next to "Customize..."
* Choose the OpenGL button from the pop-out bar
* On the "Rendering quality" tab, uncheck the "Compress to DXT3 instead of DXT1" box.
* Click the [OK] buttons until RivaTuner closes
* Restart your computer and enjoy ET:QW!

Now it works! Thanks go to Scavar for the solution

You guys (who arent in the beta) should watch the vids on ign, the game looks sweet, but disappointed on some of the animation, but from what i hear...those arent complete yet. A lot of peeps in popular gaming forums say ETQW is much better than bf2...(comparing beta's that is).

Its is but its also optimised mostly for single player game and the Multiplayer part of the game isnt as good as the BF series mostly cause because of the game's graphics i doubt it can ever support up to 64 players like the BF series does

I think I read max players supported on a server was 24.

From what i hear from interviews, there is no cap limit, but maps were made around 24-32 players. And if you have ever played WOLF:ET, you will know that 24-32 is plenty. How can this game be optimized for SP when this game is MP from the get go?

24 is ok with me, this game is more objective oriented than other shooters, so small squads of 4 or 6 players per squad (3 or 2 squads per team) is adequate enough to accomplish each maps objectives IMO

i personally dont like the beta that much


1)there is no blood and there will be no blood (stroggs dont have blood, and the stroggs weapons are lazers so it doesnt make humans bleed it seals off the wound)

2)i have all the settings to max and resolution at 1680x1050, and it doesn't look better than quake 4 in my opinion.

3)The maps aren't as opened as i'd like (although you only get to use one map) its basically the basist of all the maps, however i'll wait til it comes out

4) unless the beta's textures are from like ...2 years ago aside from the character models everything else is kinda gross the ground mountains, trees

like i said i know its the beta, and all but i already pre ordred the game so im stuck with it no matter what im a big fan of Wolf ET been playing it since it came out a few years ago still do,

i'll post some Screen shots later


EDIT: about the frames animations are capped at 30, and so are certain models so even if your going at 60fps or higher everything else is going at 30 fps so it may look alittle choppy to you

The graphics engine is almost identical ( a little more crisp ) to the one found on Quake 4 and i dont have a problem with that, even by todays standards quake 4 is top when it comes to graphics. As for the levels we cant judge a game from 1 level and from what i hear there will be more like BF2 , BF2142 and Half Life when it comes to open maps.
