Typically this would have been a standard 20 - 25 game benchmark from me, like before, but the years take a toll... I just wanted to see how much performance per money did i gain by getting myself a used Sapphire Nitro Radeon R9 Fury OC (core clock 1100 MHz) for 3 time less money than my friend got a brand new Gigabyte GTX 1660 Ti OC (core clock 1800 MHz).

I only tested 3 games, those, which i am planing to play myself soon + tested superposition benchmark. Seeing how little Radeon Fury benchmarks vs. modern cards there are in the internet, i thought this was a must enlightenment, even as short as it is. The most important thing for me personally was to find find out if R9 Fury can push Metro Exodus at ultra settings at 1080p, like GTX 1660 Ti does. Tested with Ryzen 5 1600 at 3.8 GHz with 2X8 GB DDR4 3200 MHz CL16-18-18-18.

RESULTS (minimum/average/maximum)

Superposition (high preset, 1080p)

R9 Fury OC: 45/55/65
GTX 1660 Ti OC: 53/65/79

Prey (max settings, 1080p)

R9 Fury OC: 124/125/126
GTX 1660 Ti OC: 139/140/142

Far Cry 5 (ultra settings, 1080p)

R9 Fury OC: 70/77/91
GTX 1660 Ti OC: 75/91/111

Metro Exodus (ultra settings, 1080p, no physics)

R9 Fury OC: 87/88/88
GTX 1660 Ti OC: 96/97/98

For the price of R9 Fury there were plenty of ''crypto-worn'' RX 570 and RX 580 cards even with 8 GB of RAM, but the insight told me otherwise.

yea you're right they can be had for about £130-150 (1660 Ti are about 2.5x the cost for 1.25% the perf) used on ebay for an AIB card, that's pretty damn good and my guess is in a few more years their price will go up again as they won't be as common as the likes of vega or RX 580's etc so could be a good purchase for the here and now and an investment if you keep hold of it.

200 $ on ebay, but i've got one for 100 EU (worth way more, but due to heavy mining all AMD mid tier cards are cheaper than they should be). Also the performance difference vs. GTX 1660 Ti is more like 15 %, it's nowhere near 25 %. In Metro Exodus GTX 1660 Ti was just 10 % faster.
