QUICK question from a first time computer builder

Hey, new to these forums, merry Christmas all.

I'm building a computer tomorrow, never done it before, and I have an anti-static wrist strap but I've encountered some conflicting advice on what to actually connect it to.

here's my selections that are final at this point if you are curious: hooray

I will be working on a garage floor.

Do I need to attach my strap to a grounded object, such as a faucet, or to the computer case?

Attaching it to the case is usually sufficient enough.

The case needs to be plugged in too remember, so you're earthed via the psu.

he looked at it. Dude don't worry, if you worry, you screw up. I reckon antistatic wrist straps are gimmicks. My friend ESD'ed his motherboard (finally someone does it) with a wrist strap; he was testing it out to see if it was that "effective", he did it to an old Pentium Pro motherboard though...

anti stat wrist straps are a scam really. just touch 2 metal objects at the same time (for example your pc case chassis with one hand and a metal pole with the other) and your good to go. much less restricting too
