Quick question on paste vs pad for GPU liquid blocks

Most GPU liquid blocks come with additional thermal pads,to be used on the tiny MOSFETs on the PCB.

Are these required? I know you could probably run it bare, but would using Ceramique or another compound making direct contact with the block itself be ok?

I've done it with motherboard MOSFETs, just need some confirmation.

yes paste is better, the reason they use adheisve pads is because if you simply stuck ram modules on with paste, they'd fall off sooner or later.

if its held on with a clip or a pushpin, use paste - just make sure theres good contact (sometimes the stock heatsinks have too much room for using paste, and wont contact without pads)
