I believe this question has been asked a multiton times. Don't want to create another thread to be asking "silly" questions.
I'm currently running R9 290 in crossfire, and have been thinking of selling them to buy a GTX 1080. I currently run at 1440P and am kinda sick of tired of running SLI/Xfire due to GAMING profile in which some games are "exclusive" to AMDIVDIA at times, which is annoying as hell.

Suggestions?

Btw here are the price for FE in my country,

Founder's Edition
GTX1080: S$1188 (USD883)
GTX1070: S$768 (USD570)

Just using the FE as guidelines to what the aftermarket models cost. I was thinking of getting MSI GTX1070 X edition but aren't sure, due to my resolution. Then again, the 1080 X edition is no where to found.

Would love to hear from you guys with your experience on the cards.

If you guys know of any store that ships internationally too, do let me know. Might have my chances over there too, and pay lesser :laugh:

Thanks in advance!!

EDIT: Some prices i got for aftermarket cards

Aftermarket GTX 1080
Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080 OC Edition S$1,239 (USD921)
Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming S$1,188 (USD883)
Palit GameRock Premium Edition S$1,088 (USD808)
Palit Super JetStream S$999 (USD742)
MSI Gaming X S$1249 (USD928)

Call me skeptical but... the prices are horrendous!

I'm currently running a MSI GTX1070 gaming X @ 1080p , I will probably upgrade to 1440p next year, the GTX1070 should still be good enough for 1440p.

GTX1070 gives about the same performance as an overclocked 980ti, give or take. My 980ti, (big OC) plays games at 1440p very well. Rarely do I have to turn features down. Your other option is a Fury X if you can find one.

The 1080 is definitely better but the price premium is silly. If you can afford it and budget isn't an issue, get a custom 1080 (palit Gamerock version is good).

How much did you get your card for? And how was your experience with it so far?

I got it for 519 Euros, well it works great! But I'm still at 1080p, so you can't expect otherwise.
I'm playing my games with some eye candy and MSAA 60fps.

I never said that he should buy it.

I said:
the GTX1070 should still be good enough for 1440p.

Hmm.. the 1070 seems to be struggling in maintaining a 50FPS for a 1440p (Using witcher as an example). Seems like i will most likely head to getting the GTX1080.
Seen the most recent review which is the PALIT GameRock Premium Edition. Heck it wrecks all the other cards including the overly priced MSI Gaming X yet is still cheaper.
