can you please remove your coment in the first post about my card not being stable? do a little resesarch befroe you say stuff liek that. the radeon 9550 uses a core which is meant to run at 400core becouse it was suppose to be used in the radeon 9600s. the radeon 9550 is simpley a super downclocked version of the 9600. in fact i have heard of people taking it up to 450core with no problems.

EDIT: WTF?? why did you take a crapload of my points off? is it becouse you thought my card wasnt stable? please give me my points mback if that was the reason (read above)...

Know some facts:
1. The 9600 uses a RV360 core, while the 9550 Uses the RV350, just fewer pipelines. The 9600 uses much better cooling.
2. Ive got a core speed of 500.
3. RV350 core is pathetic when not properly cooled, giving some artifacts.

Just test the card for artifacts for half an hour... if there aren't any, then you are good :).
Also I deducted only 200 points. I recalculated the clocks for you assuming it would be helpful.
At least you got higher than the stock 9550 :)

wrong again. the radeon 9550 uses a rv360. however the bios of the card tells the gpu that it is an rv360. and testing for half an hour isnt going to do anything more then a few minutes. now, please give me my points back... :)

<sarcasm> and oh yeah you are ciomplety right about it using "much better cooling" i bet that thign could cool a pentium d oced to 4.0ghz. </sarcasm>

that my friend, is not "much better cooling".
and one morething on cooling. my case has extrenmly good ventalation. dual case fans all rounded and sheilded cables (including psu) a side duct, and a gpu opining i nthe case. and whats more is that the case fans suck air through the gpu oopining directly on my v card which has a huge heatsink i think that that is as good or better then the r9600 with a pidly little fan on a small heatsink. :)

you call that extremely good ventilation... :rolleyes:

i have 2x120mm fan intake, 1x140mm intake
1x140mm outake (psu), 1x120mm outake

and i don't call it extremely good ventilation
it's just good :)

Show us a picture of your card.

This is about your GPU not about ventilation. Believe what you want, just load your card to 400/222 and scan for artifacts for an hour already man. You are BOUND to get artifacts, stock cooling is useless. I tried it with two 9550s on seperate rigs, they both got artifacts somewhere down the track, one of them had a fan and one of them had a passive, the fan one only got artifacts around 1 minute later.

The 9600 Has better cooling than what you have for sure if you say you can use stock cooling. They use different cores but utilise the memory the same way....what are you on about???
The stock cooling prevents removal of heat towards the centre of the core. More heat accumulates on the core. The fan sucks air in and blows it on the sides, forcibly removing heat.

Try scanning for half an hour and tell me the results, and oh, dont add any heatsinks and new fans.
The 9600's PCB isnt the same, being more thermally efficient with those solid capacitators.

If it had something like this, i would shut up

however the bios of the card tells the gpu that it is an rv360.

you can´t always rely on the bios readouts, e.g. my chip is labeled R423, but after flashing it shows up as R480 in ATITool/ccc...

below is a pic of my card. but you have to rember that thee is a gpu vent hole in the side of my case where the agp and pcie slots are and my case fans suck air through there and it acts with the same effect as a large slow turning fan on the passive heat sink would.

and heres that pic of my card....

-_-.... geez, you don't get it do you? The fan has to be in direct contact, also i want actual pics of your card, not the advertisement picture !!!

Btw, with that card, it will obviously artifact without a doubt, even if there is a "vent", there is no fan. -_-...
Would you like pics of my card?

My Revised score:

Core= 480x 2 = 960

Mem= (540) 250x 1 + 150x 3 + 100x 4 + 40x 5 = 1300
+4ns = 400 and ddr3 = 300

Cooling: ramsinks plus watercooling plus fan for general ventilation = 190

Pixel shader 1 plus pixel shader 2 = 300

Artefacts: not testing for 6 hours so 1 per 3 hours = -20

Voltmodding, fan connector, temp monitor, flashing and unlocking = 510

Sapphire = 205

Pipelines (16) = 400

10x series = 200

crossfire capability = 200

all equals the grand total of 4765

have I done this right?

Add me to the leaderboard please :D

When I get my Tagan Easycon 430W I'll OC some and then we'll see what kind of scores I get. Hopefully. ;)

EDIT: If I can OC at all that is.. Plus it's not a very good overclocker, but hey, even small overclocks makes a difference. ;)
