Radeon RX 6700, 6700 XT & 6750 XT users club

Hi fellows! I´m here to present the little bastard of the family. To all intents and purposes it is a Powercolor RX6700 (non xt) Fighter, but it is not, it is a BC-2235, a mining OEM card, no box, no nothing, fashed with the Fighter bios. And I only paid for it 200 U$S. Best deal ever. I´m happy with it, I even beat the 3dmark top score for my CPU & GPU combo. https://www.3dmark.com/spy/37504393
I can get more points but since it has the worst cooling solution among the 6700s i didn´t want to go over 100ºC in junction temp fiddling with MPT. I just wanted to see if it was on par with their non bastard siblings and it does! Cheers!

A great card but yeah, the cooler sucks. Nothing else to complain from about the Fighter XT myself.

Have you tried undervolting it? Helped a little with my card with the temps, I'll hit about 95C hotspot temps after a long gaming session.

Yes, I did undervolt it for the tests and I use a standard clocks profile with undervolt for everyday use. With that profile it hits around 90ºC with relatively silent fans.

I've had my Rift CV1 in the closet for months so can't say for sure, but as this card is faster than my previous one which I used for VR (1080 Ti), I would guess that it would work fine..

I think that's a very good price. If the cards are in good condition, I'd take them while I can.

With that said, I don't know how they run VR, but every game I've tried on mine has been a rock solid experience, so I'd expect no issues. It's only that there's no USB-C on the card (I'm not even sure if it's needed).

I mentioned this in another thread as well. The price cuts have been so drastic on rdna2 that rdna3 midrange wouldn't be attractive anyways if released

For example a $380-400 7600xt that performs at a 6700xt level is pretty boring when my local store currently sells the 6700xt for 315 open box and 350 new.

"AMD’s options are cheaper, but they’re not better" - how do you define "better"? When you get the same performance, but cheaper, or more performance for the same money, how is it not better?
"Nvidia is inching towards affordable" - really? With what? The $450 4060 Ti? If that's what they call affordable, then I'll stay with entry-level, thank you very much.
"AMD has been silent about offering some cheaper options" - have they been, really? You've had the 6600 and 6650 series cheaper than equal Nvidia cards for how long now?

Oddly enough, the article complains that AMD isn't doing much to claim back market share, when in fact, it's articles like this that make sure they never can by lying to people that AMD isn't a valid option.

True but when the 6800 XT and just in general the 6000 series supply starts to run out where is the 7700 7600 xt versions. There needs to be a midrange 7000 series soon.

Are they running out? There still seems to be plenty of them here in the UK.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a 7700 XT, but if it's not currently economically feasible, I understand (I'm still more than happy with my 6750 XT anyway).

What's not a good thing is sharing/posting bad quality, badly written articles from subpar tech websites into this discussion, thus increasing their traffic-revenue (supporting them).

Or they could be secretly developing 8000 series cards that use PCIe 5.0 to match the 7000 series Ryzen lineup.

Same here. I bought a used 6700XT for my otherwise brand new PC, as a placeholder, until mid-range 7000 is released but 6700XT is honestly already meeting all of my needs by 150%. I would still consider upgrading to something like 7700XT for sake of novelty if it wouldn't be ridiculously priced. After all, can still get some money back by selling the 6700XT and use that money towards an upgrade.

Look I'm not promoting anything. I love TPU. I just ran across this and was like WTF. I'm just a huge AMD fan and thought to share no intentions behind sharing the article. My current build is all thanks to TPU. Every component was reviewed by TPU as Highly Recommended or Recommended.

In my opinion bad quality articles have a right to exist. There are benefits to having whole range of articles by quality. Also no one could objectively judge these things in every single instance (even if in this one it is clear).

Look I'm not promoting anything. I love TPU. I just ran across this and was like WTF. I'm just a huge AMD fan and thought to share no intentions behind sharing the article. My current build is all thanks to TPU. Every component was reviewed by TPU as Highly Recommended or Recommended.

No worries, just thought I'd mention this, because knowing how Google and other algorithms work, the more an article is shared and talked about - the higher it is shown in search results and reaches more people - the opposite of what we want for that badly written free random freelancer article.
Instead I would like to encourage sharing well written articles instead, and simply ignoring the trash. No need to bring the trash up (especially when most of the internet is full of it anyway), let it sink down into oblivion. Good things are rarer and deserve publicity much more.

Your build does seem great in quality by the way. I wanted to ask why you didn't go for 5800x, but I suppose it might simply not be necessary. I know my 7600x is already more than what I need.

I kindly disagree. Articles (especially on well-known sites) have the power to influence people in their opinions and buying decisions. They represent a kind of authority in the tech world, so to speak. Such authority should be handled responsibly, and not be misused. That's why opinion, especially that of common nobodies, has no place in articles on such websites. Presenting such opinion as fact is an even bigger no-no. The spread of (mis)information is a powerful thing, as most people don't have the skill and knowledge to filter out any useful information from all the rubbish. Using this to sell one's own opinion to the masses as fact is disrespectful and disgusting.

At the time 5700x just came out and the price difference at purchase was about $110 difference. It also allowed me to allocate the money to better hard drive and gpu.
