That's good. Sorry for your m.2 and connectivity but I'm glad you at least got something working.

I'd buy your ol' 6700s but I'm million time zones away from Texas. Shipment would cost more than a hundred bucks.

Is 23.4.3 worth it? Currently 23.2.2, issueless but curious if I can get more speed or (more preferred) image quality.

You aren't going to notice a different other
then OC on the card but I would recommend updating. I think there's lower temps on some cards.

OC on the card
Can't OC it more than it runs already and neither the drivers nor the temps is the culprit. It just can't run faster. So I'm curious if the new driver is better than older respecting framerates and picture fidelity. That's all.

After some unexpected experiments, I announce I damaged my driver so I'm here with 23.4.3. Only tested on animals Cyberpunk 2077 (the only game I can consider benchmarking which I have on my PC) and framerate changed by... I don't see it percent. Same goes to the quality of the image.

BUT it became faster with RT. I dunno by how much but it definitely did. I remember having lesser performance. No new issues so far.

Yep, must block Windows Update from installing drivers before installing Adrenalin from AMD's website.

I just noticed there is a Scheduled Task in the Task Scheduler to check for Edge updates everytime Windows starts. It was detected using event viewer. I use Firefox only, so disabled that. It seems boot got a little snappier

Not sure if it has been mentioned already

Windows 11 update causes issues with AMD video cards

Plenty of fixes here (set the video to .75 speed to understand it)

I disabled WUD altogether and will use powershell to install only necessary stuff. Microsoft can fuck off

I'll buy a Raijintek Morpheus II as the cooler on my cheapo Powercolor card sucks balls. I'll post the results later after I've got it and tested it :)

Man I hate when Windows does that. It's not that long when that happened to me, just DDU'd those and installed the newest from AMD..

Have you tried liquid metal? I got rid of a bunch of degrees this way even without changing my radiator and fans.

Off-topic: planning on building a PC with a GPU faster than my 6700 XT but man, I hate them for not making GPUs of <25 cm length. Will make my own cooling solution for an RX 6800, wish me luck. No way in hell I'm buying Ada Lovelace for 5 million dollars (they ask above 200 percent 6800's cost for a 4070 here lol).

Yeah, Nvidia is the new Rolls Royce of GPUs - it's got the same 5 L V8 as your average Mustang, but costs 10 times as much because FU edition or something. :p

Anyway, good luck. I don't think there's a single card of reasonable size in that performance class, but if you find one, let me know. ;)

Nah. I decided that if I'm going to break its warranty seal, I may upgrade its cooling as well..

a single card of reasonable size in that performance class, but if you find one, let me know.
PNY RTX 4070 Verto
Inno3D RTX 4070 TWIN X2
Inno3D RTX 4070 TWIN X2 OC
MSI RTX 4070 VENTUS 2X
MSI RTX 4070 VENTUS 2X OC
ZOTAC RTX 4070 Twin Edge
ZOTAC RTX 4070 Twin Edge OC

Every single one of them is shorter than 10 in (254 mm). I'll probably go for a PNY variant because they sell it even cheaper than for MSRP and even offer a 2-year warranty (I don't even care lmao). By the time I get paid it prolly will go down to $450ish and I won't mind buying a 4070 for that money at all.

AMD, unfortutnately, doesn't offer anything that short in "faster than RX 6700" area.

No surprises. Nvidia's partners have been historically way more generous with small-size offerings than AMD's. I wouldn't mind if Nvidia's prices hadn't gone through the roof recently. :(

I used to have an MSi 1060 Aero ITX that I loved to bits. A friend of mine has an Asus Phoenix 3060 and he's happy.

The Phoenix cards are okay. I had a GT 1030 in my old HTPC from that series and it was fine.
