Radiator & Case fans.

Looking to swap out my case fans on my pc. Currently got ML120/140s for both my radiator (intakes) and my exhaust fans.

Looking to swap out. My setup is on a Corsair 1000D with duel 480mm radiators (8 intakes) 3 140 top exhausts and 2 120mm rear

One thing is due to the number of fans is power usage. They all hook into 1 of 2 Corsair pros but due to how many they're on splitters so I can't overload each socket.

I could replace with the ML series again but looking for the best for performance. Arctic were known to be good for me but again it was a few years ago (and of course Noctua) I would like RGB too but performance is the primary factor.

What are people using these days. Anything new to the market you'd recommend?

Phanteks T30 here too. Very good fans! I had some harmonic issues at first. Solved it by using 10mm spacer between fan and what it mounts on.

Exactly what I said. Maybe look up definition of "spacer" in dictionary.

Phobya makes some

It's a 10mm thick spacer between fan and what fan is mounted to creating 10mm of space between vent grill / radiator and fan. Obviously you will need 10mm longer fan mounting screws. Can be made of wood or plastic by cutting a square piece size of fan (120 x 120 x 10mm), drill 115mm hole in middle and 4x small holes for fan mounting screws. If you have access to 3D printer there are programs online to print them.

I have 7 of them as case fans in a 011 Dynamic XL, I don't have that issue.

You are correct. But adding 10mm or more up to about 25mm clearance / space between fan and what it's mounted on lowers fan noise, smooths and balances airflow, etc.

I only mentioned it because many of the newer fans have curved / scythe shaped impellers.
Curved / scythe shaped impellers often have harmonic noise issues at specific rpm points.
More space between fan and what it's mounted on often eliminates this problem.

Harmonic issues seem to be mostly on applications where fan is mounted pulling air thru grill / radiator into fan.
For me it was as intakes in Evolv mATX case.

Okay, I got the idea... it really depends on the application and even my fin density as usual - trial and error.

I had this issue with my 011 dynamic. When I switched to the 011D Evo that has better airflow, the noise stopped.

Not sure about Arctic P12 PWM-PST ARGB. They have full rim at ends of impellers. I have heard some complaints of an audible humming sound at certain rpms.
Don't know what tune it might be. (joke).

Well I have the P12 PWM PST non RGB in some places, I have to agree, they are doing some weird noises on certain RPM's. But considering the price and RPM range etc... you have no right to complain about them.

P12 PWM PST (non RGB) do not have impeller outer rim that RGB version has. Speculation is that ring on outer rim of impellers might dampen impeller vibration causing harmonic noise at certain rpm. I don't know of any comparison testing to see if this outer rim helps or not, but in theory I understand how it might.

Ferrum Master has a point. Arctic P12 and P14 pricing makes them a very good option for buyers on a budget. They perform almost as well as fans costing 2-4 times more money.

RPM range wouldn't totally fit our usage scenario even if you voltage control them. They are tailored for always on MAX RPM usage. They would emit strange noises and their blades are not optimized for variable range.

BTW.... i have used them in industrial designs a lot as those are cheap.
