Is this game good? I finished Rage 1 on PC and it was awesome.

I've never played it, and I never will. Not only is it a full-priced single-player game with microtransactions, but they locked cheat codes behind a paywall.

I agree, Rage 1 was great. Cheat codes? For what?
Rage 2 seems also very awesome, assuming you're OK with all that pink neon. However, it seems you can switch that off or tone it down.
I doubt I'm gonna bother with it as allegedly I'll have to upgrade my whole rig to accommodate it.
Hopefully Googles Stadia platform will offer a reasonable solution.

Some people had trouble with the Dusty 8 race and used a save game to get past it and progress with the game.

Depends on what you´re looking for, but speaking of general qualities of a good single player experience, it is horrible.

- Incredibly bad pacing
- Flow of combat - basically, you start shooting, and at some point it stops
- world design and sense of presence/discovery is very weak
- narrative non existant
- dialogue meh
The Zero Punctuation review captures that nicely.

- outside the game itself; MTX, a DLC roadmap and lots of junk to make you do the same shit over and over again. The game is just not that interesting really and Rage 1 had the same issue. Its a straightforward shooter with weird RPG elements that are out of place. If you like that, Rage 2 is your game.

Why they ever made a sequel to this still puzzles me tbf

Basically it just Mad Max but with guns and a Crysis style suit with abilities. That’s not a bad thing. I didn’t like the melee combat of Mad Max and gunplay in this is great. My talking car annoys me though.

I liked Rage 1 + DLC but it was a one playthrough game. Won't be buying Rage 2.

To be honest I liked Rage 2, you will find it a little odd in the beginning, you have to give it some time, get to know the map and the ins and outs, soon you will be hooked and want to finish the storyline, the ark finds and the weapons / abilities that comes with is very interesting, you become the hero of the day, it has some aspects of Fallout 3/4 improving yourself but it's more extreme. very different in some aspects.

It retained plenty of Rage 1 with the characters and storyline.

the game also looks really good, lots of colors and effect, some lovely night scenes like when entering a base, eg. Wellspring.
